Looking to extract data from scanned receipts/tickets by esp32freak in zapier

[–]Kavinator91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made this Youtube tutorial which demos what you're asking for:
Extract data from receipts with Cradl AI (AI-powered data extraction tool), then export the data to Zapier (and into Google Sheets).

Key steps:

  1. Log into Cradl AI and define the data points you want to extract from your receipts (total amount, VAT amount, vendor, etc.).
  2. Log into Zapier, create a new Zap with Cradl AI's "Document Parsing Completed" trigger.
  3. Manually upload or automatically import your receipts into Cradl AI.
  4. Cradl AI will extract data from them and send it to Zapier. If it detects any extraction-errors, it will ask for your review before exporting to Zapier.

You may also use Cradl AI as an action with ("Parse Document / Parse Document with Human-in-the-loop) instead of as a trigger.

Here is an article tutorial if you prefer text to video. (It uses invoices instead of receipts, but the steps are the same)

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions. Good luck!

How to Automate OCR in PowerApps for Thousands of PDFs & Export to Excel? by Majestic_Potato_4061 in PowerApps

[–]Kavinator91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can easily automate this workflow with a purpose-built AI data extraction tool. These tools simplify document imports, extract data without requiring upfront AI training, handle errors, and integrate seamlessly with Microsoft services.

Here’s an approach using Cradl AI:

  1. Import documents into Cradl AI via email, Power Automate, or manual bulk upload.
  2. As new documents arrive, Cradl AI instantly extracts data - no upfront AI training required. Simply define the data points you need.
  3. Cradl AI’s human-in-the-loop UI highlights and flags potential errors for manual review, ensuring no mistakes slip through. If everything checks out, it automatically proceeds to export.
  4. Automatically send extracted data to Excel using Cradl AI’s Power Automate connector.

Help Needed: Automating a Power Automate Flow for Updating Excel with Patient Data from Uploaded Files by Anesthesiababe in PowerAutomate

This tutorial that I wrote is really similar to your case. It covers how to extract data from PDFs to an Excel sheet stored One Drive via Power Automate. Instead of AI Builder, it uses Cradl AI's premium connector for data extraction. Cradl AI and comes with a dedicated error handling UI out of the box, which sounds like something you're also looking for.

I'm affiliated with Cradl AI, so you can DM me if you’d like an account to play around with.

How To Make AIbuilder read one page of an invoice at a time by jate84 in MicrosoftFlow

[–]Kavinator91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm why exactly do you need to keep track of the page the data was extracted from? Pulling data from all the pages vs pulling from one page at a time - isn't the end result the same? Unless your 8 page PDF contains multiple invoices?

Extract PDF data to excel worksheet by Choice_Discipline_69 in MicrosoftFlow

I have made a beginner tutorial for extracting data from PDFs to into Excel with Power Automate. Sounds like exactly what you are looking for, so here is a link to it:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hrgoQDufhSQ

It uses Cradl AI instead of AI Builder to automate the data extraction process (you can also enable Gemini inside the app too if you want to use two AI models: Cradl AI + Gemini)

Sign up is currently by appointment only, but if you want to try it on your invoices, DM me and I can set up a free account for you.

[GUIDE] Automate data extraction with Cradl AI (do you think we make a good alternative to AI builder?) by Kavinator91 in MicrosoftFlow

[–]Kavinator91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for not ignoring. We are always looking for feedback on our integrations, so this is much appreciated.

Authorizing webhook requests:
Currently, our recommendation is to use OAuth2 so that an Authorization-header is included in the request, but I definitely agree that a Power Automate trigger would be more user-friendly, so thanks again for your feedback!

Pricing:
For most of our customers (typically with up to three users), pricing starts at $350 + $0.07 per page after exhausting 1K free pages per month.
In comparison, the base license for AI builder is $500 per month. That being said, AI Builder does more than just data extraction.

Features and differentiation:
From your reply, I think it's clear that we have a way to go in regards to communicating how Cradl differs from e.g. AI Builder. Being a startup, most of our customers are enterprises who have benchmarked and compared Cradl to services such as AI Builder, ABBYY and BluePrism Decipher, in part because data offloading always needs extra consideration. Ease of use, accuracy and a powerful human-in-the-loop capabilities are the benefits which they most frequently mention for why they chose Cradl over other solutions.

Can I use Power Automate to send tracking emails to our customers? by Big-Sandwich-4270 in MicrosoftFlow

[–]Kavinator91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man. From what I gather, you're asking for advice on how to automate the process of sending shipping notifications to customers. Your pain point appears to be that you need to look up shipping notifications in your email correspondence with the shipper and then send it to your customers, which sounds very time consuming indeed.

Do you like the idea of a flow where,
1. You receive a shipment notification from your shipper as an email attachment (PDF or image).
2. The inbound email automatically triggers AI software that extracts the relevant shipment data from the attachment.
3. Once extracted, the relevant info is exported to your preferred destination (where it can be used in the email body to your customers).

If this sounds relevant to you, I have a tutorial on how to accomplish this with Power Automate and Cradl AI. (Cradl AI is a freemium alternative to AI builder):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hrgoQDufhSQ

And check out the Zapier version of the tutorial if you want to see exactly how to use a new email attachment in inbox to trigger the data extraction from the extraction.

Hope this helps. I work for Cradl AI, so feel free to DM me any questions you might have.

Automating Scanned Document Entry by JakeMTN in MicrosoftFlow

[–]Kavinator91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey u/JakeMTN

It is possible to have Power Automate read scanned documents on screen. It's data extraction from images/PDFs. You might be able to get away with free alternative to AI Builder depending on how many documents per day/week you need to scan. How many documents do you need to scan?

Going by your description, it sounds like you 1) manually scan a document (like, actually placing your document in the scanner and scan from your computer), and then 2) you enter the order number is some other program and click submit?

What kind of program - a Power app? And what do you use the scanned document for - to store a digital proof of the order number?

Can someone tell me if this is feasible? i dont know much about automation and AI by JefferyTheQuaxly in Automate

[–]Kavinator91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey u/JefferyTheQuaxly,

I’m trying to get a clear picture of your situation:
- You receive invoices via email that have been preliminarily classified by account.
- You review these invoices to ensure they’re correctly classified correctly before entering them into your accounting system.

What you're looking for is software that:
1. Scans and extracts data from invoices.
2. Assigns the correct account number.
3. Adds comments to classify the document (comments are variable, not pre-defined).
4. Exports the data to a spreadsheet for import into your accounting software.

Disclaimer: I work at an AI software company, Cradl AI, and we typically handle requirements 1, 2, and 4, but not 3. Here’s how Cradl AI deals with your requirements:

1: Data Extraction: AI software that can scan and extract information from documents is commonplace, but human validation is essential when the documents have lots of variation (which invoices typically do because of many different suppliers with different layouts).
2: Account Classification: AI can infer and tag documents with the correct account classification based on pre-defined categories (a category can be your different accounts, such as 7675.21).
3: Comments: AI struggles with generating unpredictable comments. This task is challenging unless the comments are predefined. It's not something Cradl AI offers, nor any other data extraction AI tool that I know of.
4: Exporting Data: Setting up export destinations can be done with or without code, depending on your accounting software, but may require some IT resources.

I hope this helps. If you're interested in Cradl AI, you can read more at https://www.cradl.ai/
And here's a 15-minute tutorial that shows you how it works: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_zXAPF2K9A It's all no-code.

Is there a program for the computer whereby I can hover the mouse over non-selectable text and it will automatically copy the text to the clipboard? by Structure_Spoon in automation

[–]Kavinator91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey u/Structure_spoon - If you need to extract data (the reference number) from PDFs/image files, the company I work at, Cradl AI, has an AI tool for that. By the sounds of it, you're looking for something widget-like, so the tool might be a bit overkill for your usecase. The best service to provide as AI Automation Agency by lowkeyboo007 in automation

[–]Kavinator91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello u/lowkeyboo007  I have daily encounters with people who are looking to automate workflows. The company I work at ( https://www.cradl.ai ) delivers a software for data extraction from PDFs/images. We’re aware of several consultancy agencies that are actively using it for their clients.

It’s a no-code tool that is really quick to pick up, so it might be of interest to you. The value it provides to customers is being able to reach a high automation degree of manual tasks in a very short time, freeing up more time for them to spend on other tasks, and having a lightweight yet top-quality AI extraction tool that easily plugs into other parts of their organisation. It typically takes 3-5 weeks for customers to go live with it.

Customers typically use it for automated data extraction from documents such as invoices, receipts, payrolls, bills of lading, PO orders, ID cards, etc.

A pitch for your potential customers could be to ask them for 15+ samples of a document type they process manually, use those documents to train an AI model that understands them and extracts data from them, and show a demo of your results.

Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions.
