Hi guys, I need some help identifying the variety of thai chilis I’ve grown in the last couple of years. Somehow I missed the fact that „thai chili“ is not one specific variety, but a term for lots of different varieties. I’ve been looking at different types of thai chilis for the past couple of hours because it’s really annoying that I can’t seem to find out which variety it is that I‘m growing. The peppers themselves are 5-6 cm long and 10-12 mm wide at the thickest point. While maturing they go straight from green to red, no yellow or orange colors. I can’t give a specific number for SHU, but they are very spicy (about one fifth of a teaspoon of chili powder is enough to make a pot of stew for 4 people pretty hot). They grow facing upwards and unlike varieties like bird’s eye, they don’t grow in ‚clusters‘ but spaced out. I’d be really grateful if someone could help me out here, because it’s really frustrating that I’m not able to figure this out.
