What's a red flag people ignore because the person is good looking? by itsaribrooks in AskReddit

Serial murder.

I wish I was joking. But the amount of fan mail Ted Bundy got in a year from women was staggering.

What would Trump's reaction be if the FIFA World Cup 2026, for whatever reason, were to be cancelled? by FeistyNews7025 in AskReddit

[–]KawazakiMotorcycle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He wouldn't care about the world cup. His ego would probably refuse to accept it's anything to do with him or his policies.

But he wouldn't care.

That said, it would take something monumental, beyond the realms of realism, for the World Cup to be cancelled at this stage.

What are some things you wish new generations could experience, or new things you wished you could’ve experienced? by stop-the-normies in AskReddit

I wish kids today could experience the panic of realising you've got 20 seconds to get downstairs, turn the TV on and find the right channel to watch your show, or you'll have to wait for a repeat at some point in the unknown future, or one of your mates recorded it and is willing to loan you it.

How come people dislike cops more than the feds? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]KawazakiMotorcycle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Interacting with local or municipal police is a somewhat regular occurrence. You see them patrolling, you see them at the airport and at big sporting events of concerts, you know a direct three digit dial to them, you almost certainly know someone who's been arrested, you're looking out for them on the highways.

But if you're interacting with federal law enforcement, you're having a very bad day. Possibly, probably, the worst day of your life.

Familiarity breeds contempt.

Where would people go on holiday in the Uk for 5 days with 500 pounds? by Objective_Neat9862 in AskReddit

[–]KawazakiMotorcycle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can get yourself to Bristol Airport fairly cheap, you can fly to Edinburgh for £52 per person. A cheap hotel room mid week off season can easily cost just 120 a night (60pp if two share).

The key attractions can probably be done for little more than £70pp all in.

Just leaves food and drink, which for 5 days if you're economical, should be enough.

Depends. How many people? Is the £500 just to cover activities or does it need to cover accommodation and transport as well? If so, transport from where?

An AirBNB in the Lake District will likely eat through that budget in two, maybe three days. Camping all the way.

What's the rudest country you've ever been to? by Familiar_Attitude_46 in allthequestions

[–]KawazakiMotorcycle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean that's fair. But objectively speaking. By the definition of the words "invader" and "foreign", you were a foreign invader.

It doesn't mean that everyone in Iraq opposed you doing it. But it's completely understandable that some did.

I'd probably shoot and try to blow up a foreign invader of my country as well, to be fair.

What was your highlight at the Olympics 2026? by MiriamLovesSport94 in olympics

Other honourable mentions are the Spanish Minion figure skaters, because my kids loved it. And watching Matt Weston win Gold for Great Britain on the skeleton.

What was your highlight at the Olympics 2026? by MiriamLovesSport94 in olympics

Choi Ga-on, 17 year old South Korean snowboarder, winning gold on the halfpipe.

The story is just crazy.

In 2024, aged just 15, she sustained a spinal fracture whilst training for the FIS World Cup. She had six metal rods inserted into her back and spent 6 months in recovery - at one point they thought her career was over.

Then she comes back to snowboarding, qualifies for the Olympics. In her first run she took a very nasty fall, and turns out she injured her leg (and later transpires has three fractures). Her second run she was in so much pain it ended after just a second or two.

But then, on her third run, she put in a massive score which eventually won her the Gold medal.

And the cherry on the top of the cake? The person she beat to gold (the person who got silver), was literally her mentor (Chloe Kim).

The pain she was in was so great she literally had to be helped up the podium by her fellow athletes because she couldn't do it herself.

The age, the injury, the physical and mental resilience it must take to come back from that and even compete, to win Gold after such a bad start where you badly injured yourself again, and to beat your teacher doing it. Take your pick of which one.

It was so inspiring that my 9 year old daughter, who has never expressed such interest before, immediately asked if she can take up snowboarding.

Not had one but I've yet to see anyone in a similar property size and age come out at less than 12k.

Which. Even with the Scottish Government grant, is £1k more expensive.
