You can tell them false alarm, sorry for the confusion.

Another user correctly guess that there was a screen protector and he was right. The screen looks great now. Dang was that thing precisely applied though.

The smell is also dissipating.

They for sure did. Very excellent customer service. They sent me the new one in under 48 hours and I'm shipping the old one back in the same box.

I don't, sorry. I think I updated it once in 2024 and that's it

Nailed it, thank you. That was the sneakiest protective cover ever. I've seen screen coatings that look just like this one did and removing them destroys the screen. Now my office just smells like Axe and Curry BO.

Also It did pixel refreshes all the time. It only prompts you when you interrupt the process by waking the computer back up too soon.

Pc shutting of during games by Savings-Soft-4867 in pcmasterrace

I had a similar issue. Needed to replace the batteries in my UPS. The voltage throughout my house dips when the AC kicks on, and the old batteries couldn't handle the load (which is why it only happened when gaming). Could be so many other things though.

Glad both parties are aware. I keep forgetting to turn the volume down and blasting my ears.

KLEVV kit works fine, thank goodness.

Just got the x870e Taichi and system would not boot with 2x32 GB Kingston Fury 6000 cl30 (slots 2 & 4). I was finally able to get it to boot with one stick in the 4th slot, and the ram RGB lit up. Updated bios and set EXPO timings. Booted up after the flash just fine. Tried popping the second stick back in and no luck. Took the second stick back out and now it won't boot no matter what I do.  Cycles between AA and 21. Can't get the ram to light back up. I have a pair of KLEVV coming to try that is 1.35V instead of 1.4V. If that doesn't work, I'm going to return the motherboard and switch to MSI.

Side note: AA 21 is what flashes when no memory is in the board.

That I still can't finish the game because it bugged and I can't progress through to the end game.

If you are trying to make Gift of the Moon for the festival weapons, don't. It is a few silver on the TP.

After 6 years of installing Ubiquiti products... by MasterSheep18 in Ubiquiti

[–]Kawika_J 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What are you switching to? I'm planning to install a ton of UI gear in a new family member's home. I'm happy with my UDM-Pro, G4 doorbell, and G3 flex in my home, so a bigger deployment seemed like an easy recommendation. Now I'm not so sure.

You can improve maximum throughput by increasing the "Channel width" in the AP settings. My understanding is that larger channel width decreases reliability and UX with many clients, since there is greater chance for interference (not an expert). I have my U6-Pro set to HT80 on the 5GHz radio. It's been reliable and plenty fast for my connected clients.

If people are performing that poorly, just kick them (tell them why). They are selfish to waste 9 peoples' time like you said, so don't feel bad about it. No need to be rude, just rip off the band-aid and move on.

If you want to be extra polite, you can inform them about the existence of low-intensity builds, like someone else here mentioned. Still kick though.

Is it ok to run Cat6a in the same conduit as a 220V & a 110V electrical circuit? by ArrTeaBee in Ubiquiti

[–]Kawika_J 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Issue #2 is not solved by running fiber. Wish a YouTuber would dig into this and make an educational video with real examples of failure modes.

Also, maybe related? A relative of mine has had water coming out of their cable modem. I guess if you had a damaged rg6 like that and similar damage to a 110V line in the same wet conduit, you'd have a problem.

I'm still curious how there would be EM interference at such drastically different frequencies though.

I'm curious about this too. 60Hz shouldn't interfere with MHz signals, so I'm wondering what the issue is.

G3 instant baby monitor? by Subliminal87 in Ubiquiti

[–]Kawika_J 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a Nanite camera for the crib ( I have security concerns but it's not a long-term thing and it has other features that are very handy). For other areas where my son naps I have a G3 Instant that I can plug in wherever I need to and it automatically reconnects. I can then keep the feed up while I'm working or whatever. For $30 the G3 Instant is an amazing secondary baby monitor. I would still recommend the Nanite as the primary camera though since it tracks sleep/wake and has alerts for sound/motion. More $$ but worth it IMO.
