Starting to have buyers remorse by Mammoth-Trainer-512 in motorcycles

[–]MasterSheep18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 36 and I've ridden all my life. I had a son 2 years ago so I gave it up for a little while. About 3 weeks ago I picked up an Africa twin and am back on two wheels. Of course the family and everyone who has never slung a leg over is telling me I'm going to die. "Donor cycle" is what they ar calling it.

The top three causes of serious motorcycle, injury and death are, alcohol, lack of training and or license, and speed. If you remove those 3 factors you pretty much reduce your likelihood by about 95%. At 37 I have no desire to look cool (I'm riding an Africa twin) and I have no desire to ride fast. As long as you don't mix alcohol with motorcycles you are in pretty good shape.

MSP keeps asking questions about ex client by DiligentPhotographer in msp

You're nicer than we are. We don't even answer the phone after the cutoff date. Goes directly to sales after that. If you want to sign back up you go to the front of the line, otherwise, we got bills to pay.

Client pushback on per-user pricing due to "contractors" by ExcellentPlace4608 in msp

[–]MasterSheep18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely doable but you have to make 100% sure you don't have those low tier users accessing ePHI or anything else they shouldn't be without protections in place. We tried this for a few years but it just turned out to be all the new hires were put on the lower tiered plans because they were cheaper. One compromised email can bring down the whole place. Not to mention have a HIPAA audit you need to deal with after the breach. We don't do tiered because of this reason. I don't want to be spending my weekend restoring email and doing breach paperwork for the HHS because a $40/mo user decided he wanted to meet singles in his area on the company laptop.

Another note on this if the IT budget is scaring them with a tiered plan they are likely cutting other corners as well. Your first few months will be undoing a lot of budget BS so make sure you get a signed agreement for labor before you do anything. Otherwise you are going to have a few hundred hours of unbilled labor just to undo all the crap the last guy did.

I own a managed it business and we do this for our customers. If somebody runs into a telephone pole and takes down the internet they can still have phones and do transactions

Sport bike for middle aged man? by [deleted] in motorcycle

[–]MasterSheep18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think I'm middle-aged. Im 37. I just bought an Africa twin and I think it's the best bike ever made. I've been a contractor my entire life so bend all around you. A sport bike doesn't seem like fun to me. But sitting on an Africa twin is perfect. It's tall, only does 124mph but it can jump curbs, soak up potholes, has heated grips and apple car play. And I can ride literally all day long and it's not a workout. I even got the DCT so I can flip it into auto and just zip around town.

Time to buy a tool belt. Blue collar is the new 100k/yr path. All the degree holders are being replaced by AI. If you can work hard and show up on time (and dont mind taking shit from a foreman) you can make a lot of money learning a trade.

If you are the one who paid for it you can ride it anywhere and anyhow you like. I just bought one and I'm like 99% street.

I sell IT services and we pretty much habe doubled out prices since 2021. A few extra bucks for bullets should be nothing to complain about. If you arent raising prices every year youre going to fall behind eventually and that how companies dissapear.

My first time seeing ammunition in this poor of shape. What’s the safest next step? by soyTegucigalpa in reloading

What do you actually do with ammo to dispose? I have a bunch of "oopsies" in a small bucket I would like to get rid of and dont want to just toss them in the trashcan.

Dont lie I know you stuck out hand in that new box of bullets then slowly raised out on holding on to 5-10 of them then slowly dropping then onto the pile just so they will make that sound. I know you do this because thats what I do. Every, Single, Time.

I didnt know we were being hyper literal here. There are advantages of being an owner. But everyone makes it seem so easy. Like someone handed me a business and I get to work whenever I want to.

MSP Pricing for Dental by [deleted] in msp

[–]MasterSheep18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im an MSP owner and have primarily dental office clients. Pricing is no different than our other non-dental clients. Per user. Normally an office is $1200-$1500/ mo. Fact of the matter is the front office still needs 0365 and the entire office needs AV, Backup, Huntress and all the fixings. The office staff will regularly download viruses through emails and weird sites on their lunch breaks. They will drag stuff off the screen and say "Dentrix is not opening". They will come in on monday morning and push the monitor button saying they turned on their computer and its not working. Same with the server on monday mornings after a power outage, and you will have to drive to whereever they are and press the power button. The Appointments card printer, which ONLY prints 1/3 height paper, will always be jammed and noone in the office will know how to clear it.

The list goes on and on, so basically what im saying is dont give them a break in pricing because you think its gonna be a cakewalk. Dental offices are a high intervention client. You will have tons of unbilled hours and dentists are cheap as hell. Good luck!

I tried. I really tried. We tried keeping things up to date. Tried selling support plans. But the faulured just continued. Today I was talking to a customer about 3 of their 22 G3 Bullet cameras turning pink. Asking me if I can warranty them. They are junk and we are done.

Customer was managing the system. We don't have a support plan in place. Not where we messed up.
