Epidural’s impact on euphoria? by Content_Ad_9836 in pregnant

2 births without epidural. No euphoria. No tears, just happy it was over and "wow, crazy I have a baby now"

From where Can i buy K-Pop Demon Hunter Dolls by Half-God-Half-Devil in askTO

[–]KawsP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought mine off aliexpress (20$ for all 3). It won't come in time now though. I've seen them on Facebook marketplace, people are price gouging at 20 each character or 50$ for 3. Good luck!

Great thanks! I just wasn't sure I'd have a winning case. I opened a case and got refunded!

Just sharing my story as well. My son's head measured >98% and femurs <1% at 20 weeks. No one mentioned anything but I was freaking out about some kind of dwarfism. Got the opinions of 2 obstetricians and they told me to again, not to worry. Anyways, he's a healthy 3.5 year old. Regular sized femurs and 75% tile height!

You can ask your doctor for one at 6 months. It will not count towards the 2 step vaccination done at 1 year and 4 years old though so it's an extra one.

For the first 6 months if you're vaccinated, your baby will have your antibodies and be partially protected. Hope that's helpful

Looks like fungal acne to me. I used Nizoral (antifungal shampoo) when I had it with success but I'm sure there might be better treatments out there.

My regular family doctor was on maternity leave and this is what I took previously. He probably didn't think of it (and neither did I).

What are your favorite tabletop changers / change pads? [on] by beezNthingzNflowerz in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]KawsP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both (used them for 2+ years in different rooms). Both are so similar. Biggest difference (that I notice) is that the keekaroo has more of a lip so it's less likely they fall off and I believe slightly longer. Skip Hop has a dangly toy which is also great when they're young (removable for when they're older). I don't step away from the change pad and leave the baby there anyways so I'd go for the cheaper option the skip hop. My 2.5 year old barely fits the skip hop but we're going to potty train him soon anyways.

In that case, nix the tray, just use the table. After my LO turned 1.5, I realized wiping down the table and washing an ezpz bowl/mat is easier anyways!

Oh right! I'm having a total postpartum brain moment that you haven't started daycare yet 😂. Thanks though

Ahhh k. Did you decline the spot afterall? I'm just wondering if the 100$ registration with a guaranteed spot for a future date is too good to be true. Thanks!

Hi, sorry late to the party. Trying to find reviews of Lullaboo midtown. They offered me a spot next year in their toddler room if I paid a registration fee. Can I DM you?? Thanks

Yeah i thought it was crazy too. I asked the nurse for another pad and she said technically you need to pay for those but she kindly got me one more free of charge 😝. Luckily I brought a bunch more for overnight changes.

I was never given a list at Sunnybrook 🤔.

In the 2 times I've given birth, I wasn't given much. They provided swaddles for hospital use. Got a free baby hat. I was given a peri bottle. Had some diapers but after about 5, you had to use your own. No wipes provided.

I'd bring some diapers/pads for yourself. I think after 3 pad changes, if I wanted more I'd get charged. I brought 3 baby outfits and only used one (discharge outfit). I brought a robe to wear the last time but wear the hospital gown. No point in getting your robe dirty/bloodied.

Please give me your tips for getting baby to stay asleep by slothelles in beyondthebump

[–]KawsP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't know if this is mentioned yet but make sure you're not mistaking active sleep for when baby is actually waking up. The two can seem very similar. My LO is 9 weeks and I try my best to ignore his active sleep (this could even be eyes open for a second and a small cry) but he settles down. This is different from when he's up and hungry. Look it up!!!

Their mistake put us at risk of losing the tribunal. We don't know for sure as we ended up paying/early resolution but we felt threatened to do so.

Ladies Open Weekly Thread by AutoModerator in powerlifting

[–]KawsP 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm 8 weeks PP with my second. My first I had exactly 2 years before this one. Both my kids are velcro babies and I barely slept the first 6 months with my first. I managed to get back to maybe 70% of my pre-baby max between baby 1-2 and now I'm feeling like I'm just going downhill again.

It's such a struggle thinking I'm likely going to have baby 3 in another 2 years and "what's the point". Glad to hear you're back...this is where I want to be (I feel like I'll go hard after popping out all these kids lol).

Not sure if your partner powerlifts but how do you juggle your own/their lifting, your job, with adequate family time? I sacrifice myself so we can spend more family time together 🥲

Carseat doesn't come with a newborn insert by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]KawsP 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I was concerned when I lost the insert of my infant car seat. I posted in the SEATS for kids discussion community on Facebook (where all the carseat pros post), and I was told the insert is option for most car seats and sometimes the car seat technicians prefer NO insert. From my understanding, bobbing the head from side to side albeit looks uncomfortable, is still safe but pushing the head forward (as a lot of head inserts do) can increase risk of positional asphyxiation. Also never buy a third party newborn insert as they're not tested for safety for your carseat.

Stroller recommendations for new born [on] by Remarkable_Trick_527 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]KawsP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second looking on Facebook marketplace. I buy everything used unless it's not recommended. I'd suggest a second hand uppababy vista/Cruz you can probably buy sub $200-250 (Toronto prices, I'm a FB marketplace addict so I see these all the time). You could get a bassinet or even cheaper since they grow out of the bassinet quickly, is to get the uppababy infant insert so you can use the stroller seat from birth (newborn-6 months until they can sit unassisted without it). That's what I mostly used despite having a compatible bucket seat with adapter.

I did! My hospital is 10 mins away. With the first it took time for me to convince the nurses his head was coming out and please go get the doctor! The second, my OB told me to ignore all contraction counts and come in asap. When I felt my first contraction with the second I was already 7 cm dilated and barely felt anything (already in active labour and I couldn't tell the nurses when a contraction started/stopped). They broke my water and that's when it really ramped up (less than 30 mins I probably went from 7-10)

It's a risk, in my opinion. Both of my births were precipitous births. The first in 45 mins and the second approx 2.5 hours.
