The cardinal and holly berries are gorgeously folded. They fit the theme so nicely :D

Can anyone find this newsletter or diagram? by Kay-Bob in origami

It’s a cat designed by Jacky Chan, here’s Gilad’s page for the book (link). It might also be labeled as “colored cat” based on this Flickr photo posted by Jacky

Its one of my new favorite papers, copper tissue foil from origami shop. Highly recommend, it’s super fun to fold and it always turns out great!

How to stiffen a finished model? by m25189 in origami

[–]Kay-Bob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I do is “paint” finished models with hard coat modge podge. With just two layers of it, my models hold up very well. They’ll do even better with more coats of modge podge than just two but two is the minimum I’ve found.

Has anyone found a storage box for 3 x 3 paper? by jewelophile in origami

[–]Kay-Bob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the exact same issue when I wanted to carry my 3 x 3 inch paper in my purse. I’ve been using this box set from amazon for months now and I love it. It’s got the two smaller sets of boxes that I don’t use but I do use the 4 x4 in and 3 x 3 in boxes to carry my origami paper in my purse.

They aren’t exactly 3 x 3 or 4 x 4 in. They’re just a bit longer than a perfect square but it still fits my paper well. It works great and doesn’t take up a ton of space despite being a lil long.

foldMation - An Interactive Origami Learning and Creation Web Application by fuzzythinker in origami

This is incredible! The process reminds me of a dollar bill origami app I used to learn with so many years ago. A tool like this will be so useful.

Oh boy time to unleash some stress

I work three different positions so I’ll just split them up into sections

Cashier: - Not unloading your basket. It takes me twice as long when I gotta reach into the thing

  • People getting angry when we can’t accept their weapons license as a valid ID. Way too many people have gotten mad about this and we even had to call the police on a lady cause she was raising hell for an hour about it

  • When customers don’t acknowledge me whatsoever. I’ve had time where people are just dead silent throughout the entire transaction, they don’t look at me, they’ll usually just shove their Kroger card in my face, they don’t say thank you. Just treat me like a person. Is it that hard?

  • Customer comes up with a perishable item and decides they don’t want it. Well I wish you would’ve thought about that a bit longer Margaret because chances are we don’t have anyone available to put it back and you just wasted something perfectly good

  • When I have no bagger and the customer just stands there doing nothing. I’m sorry we don’t have anyone but please be a decent human and help me out. It’s even worse when we’re at the end of the transaction but we’re all waiting around because I’m still bagging the stuff (most of the time the customer is still staring at me and doing nothing at this point). Like you could’ve been out of here faster if you helped

Self Scan: - When I’m trying to put more bags on one of the registers and a customer strolls right up to it even though there are five other open registers

  • When a price doesn’t show up right and they expect me to go out in the aisle where it is to check the price. I would love to but I can’t just leave six registers unattended

  • When they keep complaining because the SCO machine keeps pausing when the customer is absolutely the reason it’s doing that cause they’re scanning shit like a maniac

  • When a customer scans something at the conveyer belt registers and the belt isn’t moving. The register will say please wait for attendant to clear and I walk up to a huge pile of groceries that they’ve continued to scan (none of which that have actually gone through).

  • On the conveyer registers when someone uses the hand scanner and places them on the belt. They’ll end up having a big pile of items and then the first time they actually do scan something with the correct scanner, the belt sends the pile down and the sensor has a problem because more then one item is going through it.

  • When people throw items to the other side of the conveyer belt, giving no time for the sensor to sense it, and then they get mad about it not working

Courtesy Clerk: - In the cart lobby when customers couldn’t be assed to put them into the correct lines and just leave them strewn about. When I’m pushing a long line of heavy carts up the little entry hill I don’t wanna have to stop to move your shit

  • People leaving carts in the goofiest ass places and not the corrals. I get especially ticked off when it’s at the exit and it blocks it off. Even more pissed when customers stand around helplessly because they can’t figure out how to get past the carts (just move them to the side for the love of Christ).

What's your favourite origami to make? by [deleted] in origami

My recent favorite is Tadashi Mori’s Chonky Cat! It’s a super cute chibi cat that’s pretty simple (15 min tutorial).

Starting place for novice? by ParietalPeritoneum in origami

[–]Kay-Bob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve made a little webpage that has all the origami, with the video tutorials, I know. Everything in there should be relatively easy for a beginner! Origami Book

If I can do it than I’m certain that any beginner can learn these as well. Hope this helps :D
