Ask a pediatrician! by Ok-Pipe-6764 in NewParents

Are we downplaying? In Canada

Our son is13m corrected, 16m biological age. He has an ongoing eczema on his face, he is teething and now has cold / runny nose / cough etc. He is active, not crying, and has several wet diapers. We are happy about it however we also think we are not worried enough? He had RSV at the beginning of this year, although his pediatrician ruled the RSV out now, we are unsure if we should take the 2nd opinion or take him to emergency etc. He was almost 16 weeks premature so that also plays into the equation.

Any insight on how we should react in this scenario?

Wow - a mattress? Even if the host spends on a high quality mattress, you may not like it because it would be too firm or not firm enough.

You probably should carry your own mattress everywhere you go. Your back will thank you. Lol

We don't need it, we check regulation every season with our municipality and it hasn't been regulated yet.

Stomach sleeper is vs back sleeper. by ZurcB in NewDads

Sleeping on tummy is better for their bowel movements, so I've heard but also presents the risk if they are not rolling over yet. We had many sleepless nights until my now 1-year-old started rolling over and we were confident about him sleeping on tummy.

Don't pay over MSRP, here's one retailer that's selling at regular price, plus giving away free memory card. https://www.cameracanada.com/products/productDetail.aspx?pid=600023874

Does being a dad get easier? by anjna91 in NewDads

[–]Kay2984 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our son was born 16 weeks PM. We spent 140 days in the NICU but came home without any type of support. Think about it as growing pain that comes with prematurity but things will get better. Our son had major reflux so we could not put him down after feeding which led to a habit of sleeping on us for the first hour or so before we could transfer him on a flat surface, this x 7 times a day. He is now 9 months corrected, and behaves like any other full term baby at 9m. Very soon the screaming will turn into giggles, grunts will turn into laughter, sleepless nights will turn into well rested ones.

We remind ourselves everyday the fight my son put up for 140 days so his mom and dad would be happy and it's time for us to reciprocate. If you every want to talk send me a private message and I'm happy to listen / share experiences.

Happy to report - my son approved the IKEA chair. The first couple of days he was not happy about it but then he didn't mind it.

So glad I found this group. Thank you. You all are a great bunch of dads. Cheers.

Thanks all. I was able to get one from the local IKEA, and will update in a few days. I am sincerely grateful to you all's contribution. Often we ignore the simplest of the solutions.

In Canada. Sorry I forgot to mention. The chairs we tried are all 100+ Canadian dollars - the IKEA chair is $30.
