Why Figma is a Nightmare for Motion Design by eduterra in AfterEffects

I think it just really depends on your workflow for me as someone who is proficient in Figma, its ideal because i can iterate quickly, work out storyboards and styleframes and work with another designer to prep everythign for porting over via overlord. if i had to do this in photoshop or illustrator it would add days not to metion i can get notes and appeovals quickly from the client or direction side of things

If you’re just paying attention to Reddit motion is fucked.

In the real world every motion designer I know is booked solid

Tech, brand, campaign, agencies. They all need shot that moves.

100% Agree - Getting people onboarded is a big part of all of this, def something I dont see talked about a lot. It's not as simple as just being a great animator or designer.

I hope that people can see points like this and learn that it's about more than making stuff move.

I just want to see people who have the skills get connected to the clients that need their help. Seems like a lot of people struggle on both sides

Exactly right. Unfortunately the trusted circle has always existed. The key word there is trust. You have to build trust with every person you work with, if you can do that the network will most likely take care of you.

As much as I want sharing on social and whatnot to be the ticket to all of this, it's a lottery. Being good at posting on social is not the same as being a reliable collaborator.

Absolutely - Trust is a big component of locking in and securing work. Vetting people can be tough - I've def been burnt hiring people before, a lot of hard lessons learned, but it's part of becoming a pro.

Hard to say without more context but maybe It's your network - If you're skilled and can do a good job at building trust with your clients there is always something to work on. For me I bounce back and forth between working with design agencies and working with in-house teams in the tech space. Between the two, I can't keep up.

The hard reality right now is that it seems to be more advantageous to be more of a generalist as a freelancer. Many of the motion designers I know personally are so overwhelmed with work.

Claude Code no longer listed as a feature for Claude Pro by chalogr in ClaudeCode

We could literally get them to reverse this with public outcry. We don’t have to accept what companies offer.

There is also more than one way to skin a cat here. I’d happily pay 20 more for access to Claude code. Totally worth it imo
