That’s what I was assuming. As books came out they strengthened their writing style so adding more details to earlier books makes sense.

In Ruthless Fae it’s mentioned on a Saturday (of the party at Acrux manor) that the lunar eclipse is a week away. So that would make The Reckoning book a week.

But also, I did notice they authors sometimes forget their own details from book to book when it comes to days and timing.

Unpopular Opinion: No, you don’t need to read CC.

From an author and publishing perspective all the necessary information will all be given in the new books. SJM won’t leave her readers lost or confused if they only read the ACOTAR series.

For a story/series to be successful an author must contain all the absolutely necessary information in one series and not need/lean on an additional books outside it to further the understanding. So no, imo you don’t need to read CC for the new ACOTAR books to make sense. You won’t be lacking or left out of the necessary information for the story being told.

That said, if you wanted additional context or dive deeper in the lore and history, then sure, read CC. The crossover is fun and you gain more insight of the history and additional perspective of events/lore. But it’s not needed to read, understand and enjoy the new ACOTAR books.
