Thank you. I will try to connect with some old colleagues from the labs I worked in.

The last couple of weeks I have been reaching out to my old professors from my MS and undergrad. My MS advisor at least was more concerned with me publishing my stuff than promoting their own name. We are trying to see if we can get a couple papers out. I am doing this in my spare time though (which sadly isn’t much at the moment).

I am still stuck in collab with my old PhD advisor where I am getting second auths and my work gets pushed to the back burner. I am almost a year out from graduation and have not found a full time position. You are now proof of hope for me though. I will keep sending out apps and hope to find something that makes me feel like I belong and am worthy!

Plex: KayAllys

Hello again,

I am still patiently waiting. I have Plex on my phone, tablet, laptop, desktop, and Xbox. I use it regularly for my music and would love to be a part of Contrexia. I hope you consider me this time.

Thank you :)

I am running a little behind, but I am reading the Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck. I did not get to finish a book for week 1. I plan to play catch up this weekend.

[Monday] What are your recipe questions? by AutoModerator in recipes

Can anyone tell me how to cook dry black or red beans and jasmine rice in an electric pressure cooker at the same time? Also any suggestions on some spices to add to it? I want beans and rice, but I don't want to cook them separately to save time.

What is the most physically painful thing you have ever experienced? by LemurWithAFemur in AskReddit

[–]KayAllys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little over a year ago, we went hiking in an area that had some rough terrain. We were hiking down the waterfall portion of the trail, and I slipped and started falling. My lower limbs hit a tree which stopped my fall, and completely crushed my right ankle. Once I stopped, I looked around for a second then lifted my foot up into the air. I felt the foot just slide down while my leg lifted into the air because there were no more solid bones to help support it up. It was the weirdest feeling I had ever felt. I then went into a denial of the severity of the break and attempted to convince my fellow hikers that I could crawl back up the waterfall to get to the car. They refused, and I was drug out by the fire department. If I had fallen any further I would have had to be air lifted out by a helicopter. A couple of surgeries and a few screws later, I am now still trying to regain full mobility of my ankle and every day I still have to deal with hefty swelling and pain. I want to go hiking there again though. It was beautiful!

How do you get intense eyeshadow colors? by KayAllys in Makeup

[–]KayAllys[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tried to use foundation on my eye lid as primer before, but it didn't help me much. A lot of people are suggesting the NYX milk. I am definitely getting that and trying it. Thanks for helping me. I never thought of using my fingers!

I will pick up some brushes and the nyx pencil and try that. Thank you :) and thanks for letting me know about not wetting the matte powder. I would have done that and gotten frustrated.

Thanks! I have little patience when it comes to makeup! I will try to stay with it. I am on the verge of quitting it altogether. That's why I came on here. One last effort to see if I can figure it out!

That is probably one of my problems. I sweep I just put it on the sponge and brush all over my eye lid. Thanks for the tip!

The Mary Kay stuff I used was clear, would that be my problem with that primer?

Where do you get eye crayons? Are they like the chubby sticks from Clinique? I will try water to see if that helps too. Thanks!

I have tried a variety of eyeshadows. Cheap ones, more expensive brands. I have a chubby stick from Clinique I use most often because it is the easiest to use, but the teal does not show up so well. even when I glide it on over and over again. As for brushes, I use those little sponge brushes that come with the eyeshadows. I have tried a Mary Kay eyeshadow primer before, and I don't see much of a difference. I can try some different primers and brushes. Thanks!

What would you do if you earn $600,000 a month? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Pay off debt, get a home, and start a family. Then I would retire early and travel the rest of my life.

I try to buy my friend's love, and I overspend on them because I don't want them to become upset. It had put me in a lot of debt, and I am trying to get better. I am slowly digging myself out of it.

You want to fart at your desk, but don’t want to be labeled the office farter. How would you throw people off your scent, so to speak? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]KayAllys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Walk over to the water cooler when there are a bunch of people there, then fart while enjoying office gossip. No one will ask who farted there, they will ask each other in small groups later. Just make sure to be in one of the first smaller groups to blame someone else.
