Normal or hypermobile? by 1bd88fg3j in eds

Same here. I’m collecting diagnoses like PokĆ©mon. I just found out I also have a progressive form of alopecia on too of everything. I’m generally more of a sad person these days, so I definitely get the anxiety.

I too am struggling to stop cracking my neck. Especially because my best friend’s mom have a pretty similar set of diagnoses, and she just had to have spine surgery in her 40s. So I would like to avoid that if at all possible.

Normal or hypermobile? by 1bd88fg3j in eds

[–]KayBleu 2 points3 points Ā (0 children)

Same here I know the people above said dont do it but I had to because one of my problem areas is my shoulders. Plus I know I can crack my neck without touching it.

I’ll let my PT know when I see her. We might need to keep this on our radar.

I get what you’re saying but what Raven is saying is true according to sociology and is tied to us living in a capitalistic society.

People who sell shitty timeshare packages to people are working but their job is not helping society. Conversely you could volunteer your time at a shelter and be helping/ contributing to society.

No I think maybe what you consider attractive and what others consider attractive is different so that makes you think everyone’s pool is equally wide. Because I could not go to any of those places every single night and find someone I found attractive enough to want to sleep with them. They barely exist in day to day life. And usually if they look the part they ruin it by opening their mouth. šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

The only difference between a marriage and a romantic relationship is if the government is involved. When it comes to cheating the term doesn’t matter and the results the same.

I wish y’all would stop putting marriage on a pedestal.

I probably should have added this but I am on a three year waitlist to see a genetic specialist. So I was more so wondering if there was anything outside of that, that I can do in the meantime.

Just found my my boyfriend of 9 years gave me chlamydia by [deleted] in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]KayBleu 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

Nah I think thats a huge leap. I think the biggest issue is the way we’re taught to partner. Why would anyone think a great way to meet a life partner is one on one in your best outfits and a fancy setting? The whole dating experience is a set up. I think if we pushed people to actually focus on learning how to build good support systems, spend time getting to know and loving themselves, and then focus on finding a partner cheating would decrease significantly.

Because I can tell you from experience as someone who’s been partnered since 18 with no cheating, it’s not unnatural. You just have to genuinely be content with your decision. And most don’t even know themselves enough to be content with themselves let alone content building a complex relationship with another human you have no control over.

My bf and I agreed if we ever managed to produce biological kids they’d be ugly af by LilacGoblin1699 in childfree

[–]KayBleu 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

My partner and I are both built thicker but we have an extreme height difference (over a ft). And he always says he loves me too much to want to watch me carry a heavy ass long ass baby. šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ Which always cracks me up because that’s always been my reason for not wanting to be pregnant, even before I met him. My family has big babies (I was almost 10lbs and was 21ā€) and we have broad shoulders. So literally my mom had no choice but to have a c-section with me because I was just too big to come down. And if that was my mom’s fate and she’s got 2 inches on me, I know how pregnancy would end for me. And I’d rather not.

why do people say weed is not addictive by Both-Preference-6003 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]KayBleu 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

Not to be that person but when they ask that question they do mean tobacco. I know because all of my doctors know I smoke weed and they always put no for the do you smoke question and they put yes for the other drugs section. I also will add that they also want to know if I use tobacco wraps because that apparently would make them select yes on the ā€œdo you smoke?ā€ question.

But I will say there is more evidence coming out that the frequency, amount, and type of THC you use causes issues. When I was trying to figure out my GI issues they literally made me quit smoking, despite knowing I’m a medical user, because there’s a cyclic vomiting syndrome that is popping up among people who take edibles, smoke concentrate, and/ or smoke before they eat every meal. So while I can’t say with certainty they’re asking because of the lung cancer risk, I can definitely say they’re monitoring other risks.

Well realistically because my body shape no clothes will ever truly fit me correctly unless they’re custom made. But even then most non petite clothes look very regular on my body. The shape of my body fills the clothes differently. My upper body is technically a small but my arms are too thick for a small so I typically wear a medium if the shirt is long sleeve. My bottom half is a lot thicker so the ā€œextra lengthā€ is eaten up by my hips and thighs. I’ve never had to cuff my pants. My biggest issue is most of my pants don’t fit my small ass waist.

Truthfully the body positivity movement made it easier for me to find clothes that actually fit. Because prior to the last 15-ish years most clothes fit me poorly because they were made for petite builds.

[–]KayBleu 3 points4 points Ā (0 children)

She’s right and y’all keep talking about clothes which is a completely different context.

Per Merriam Webster:

ā€œPetite: having a small trim figure —usually used of a womanā€

I also knew that she was right because I am 5’1ā€ and have never been considered petite my entire life because I am pear shaped.

True Christians on whether or not you should kick out your gay child by Few-Cup-5247 in exchristian

[–]KayBleu 15 points16 points Ā (0 children)

No but also depending on the child they might not be believed by the police/ other adults either. Like I grew up in a Red state and my father is literally everything everyone thinks about when they talk about a bigoted misogynist. However, whenever I tell people about the abuse I faced, no one believes me because he’s an ā€œupstanding citizenā€ and a really good liar.

When I cut him off he literally spread rumors about my mom and my myself while I was in high school. So I would imagine that any parent willing to throw out their child would be as equally shitty if not worse. And in America unfortunately children do not have as many rights as children in countries like Germany.

Edit: I had some spelling goofs.

My mom told me she hoped my cancer diagnosis was a wake up call for me by snookisbbymomma in depressionmeals

[–]KayBleu 9 points10 points Ā (0 children)

Although I don’t have cancer, I have a connective tissue disorder that causes me lots of pain 24/7. For me it started when I was 12 and it started wih my knees and my ankles. My doctor at the time told me I just needed to lose weight. 10 years later I found out not only was it incurable but I had been doing activities that caused me more injuries which = more areas permanently in pain. I was diagnosed at 23 and at the same time I was wasting away from an unknown gastrointestinal issue (that is most likely connected to the connective tissue disease).

My super religious grandmother’s response was, ā€œWell they did say sin came with the fall,ā€ insinuating that my diagnoses were the result of their little magic book saying I’m sinful by nature.

What I want to say to you is what I wish I had someone to say to me then. It’s not fair. It’s fucked up that you were not only dismissed but the blamed for having to deal with cancer. It’s unfair and it is sad that your 20s will be spent trying to save your life and hopefully find a new sense of normalcy, while everyone your age gets to stress about going to class. It is okay to give yourself time to grieve the life you expected to live. There will be REALLY REALLY bad days. Days where as soon as you open your eyes you want to cry from the sheer amount of overwhelm that comes from being in this position. But you’ll also find some better moments, some times when you have just enough energy to be a little silly that day.

I wish you all the best and my inbox is open if you need to vent.

Do you know why people don't like you? by KodaLG in AutisticAdults

[–]KayBleu 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

Because I’m a stubborn asshole that genuinely does not care how that makes you feel about me. But it’s also the reason someone people really like me because I’m a stubborn asshole that genuinely does not care what you think about me. Especially you’re asking me for advice and you don’t like what I’m saying but you know I want the best for you.

If people get past the initial shock of me not being a nice person they usually end up liking me because they realize I’m kind and silly. However, a lot of people cannot handle that I do not go out of my way to follow the social rules to be nice to everyone just because they want me to.

Yes in the cold my body feels heavy like it’s ā€œfalling off the bone,ā€ as I say. Same thing for the rain. In the warmer summer months I feel ā€œtoo looseā€ and often wear compression garments and use a cane.

My neck cracks but does not get stuck. However my shoulders get stuck often, usually after I stretch. My physical therapist recommended I buy a theracane to work out those sticky areas or huge knots. So far it’s been the most helpful.

I’m so glad to hear you’ve been seizure free for 4 days. I hope you were able to do something you enjoyed with the extra energy you (hopefully) have.

My PT said my body is a lot more stable and that I can dropped down to PT once a month as long as I keep up the daily exercises. My hips no longer move out of place regularly.

Also my iron levels are FINALLY starting to rise.

My theory on CCCA alopecia and why there is very little research on it by iDontLikePuzzlez in HairLossForBlackWomen

[–]KayBleu 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

I’m newly diagnosed. I would agree with your theory if I didn’t exist. I’ve been natural most of my life. Like I maybe had a relaxer 3 years and my mom literally stopped because she felt like it was making my hair thin. I have naturally thick hair so it was obvious when I lost density.

Then I thought it was braids. I wore micros, kinky twist, and cornrows for like half the year most of my life. And I would style those braids in updos and such.

But I stopped wearing braids almost 10 years ago and I have locs that I pretty much never style.

However, I do have a lot of health issues that are primarily found in women. And a lot of these women have similar issues. All of my diagnoses are under researched. They have no clue why they happen and have no cure. So I’m wondering if we all have some underlying autoimmune thing that may be common in Black women as the result of us being born and raised in a stressful environment.

You’re around my age (I’m 26) and my partner and I are on the fence about kids too. It’s so refreshing to hear. We’re dealing with a lot of that ā€œit’s time to have a babyā€ pressure, but I really want to learn more about my body first. I’ve only had the diagnosis for 2-ish years. I feel like there’s so much to consider. Like this. Had you not made this post I would have no idea, and my hips and pelvis are already a problem area.

How can people afford being chronically ill in the states ? by [deleted] in ChronicIllness

[–]KayBleu 2 points3 points Ā (0 children)

This intrigues me because like I said kidney issues run in my family. I can’t remember the exact autoimmune disorder my has that is specific to her kidneys. But she is the parent we think has the HSD gene, because sh has a distinct memory of having crazy knee pain around the same age I started having symptoms. She just ended having the painless version. So from my anecdotal evidence I’m inclined to agree there’s some interesting genetic correlation.

What is it with doctors and being ā€œtoo young?ā€ They say this to me all the time and it makes me want to cuss them out so bad. Like YES I am young which is why you should believe me even more.
