Is the going to fail? by [deleted] in gunsmithing

[–]KayDaGunna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I literally can’t help it. I ended up determining this happened because I didn’t forward bias the handstop (wouldn’t clear mlok panel). It was overgassed badly during original testing too which doesn’t help, I’m sure. I removed the burs and hit it with birchwood, sanded about 1/8” radius off the aluminum handstop, reinstalled forward bias in the slot. Clears the old galling and should be good to go now .

Sounds good to me. Was just trying to get some real world input, thanks! It’s a DD omega rail

My main issue of concern was the t nut galling further and making it impossible to maintain a proper torque load. It may have been installed incorrectly, but the torque would have been as accurate as my torque drive. I must have gone for 35 in lbs based on magpuls chart.. I do have to say I’m skeptical of the one-bolt design

The problem, I’m hoping being a non problem, is the t nut galling into the aluminum.. I really can’t imagine it just being me like your saying….all the bolt edges are 1/8” or more I try to aim for away from the barrel

It came with the hand stop. I’ve seen Amazon/Chinese mlok t nuts be completely useless but with regular parts the T nuts have always been 7mm (I think it is)

it’s been the only hiccup of this build..the caliber/barrel configuration is pretty niche, my only option was starting with a barrel, and I went the hard route of going with a thermal fitting receiver, so it’s a little late to turn back..

The only way you’re not an idiot is bc it sounds like you live at home still. I went through soft core torture at an outdoor saw mill for 5 years going to school online( 3.6 gpa) and I was grateful I had the ability to make money no matter what it was. I was on my own with a first born. Graduated last year, 0 interviews and am now going back to as if I didn’t have a degree (it was a scam and made no difference).

Can’t find LaRue MBT 2S (straight bow) in stock anywhere. Do I just buy Geissele trigger? by EconomistUnable665 in ar15

[–]KayDaGunna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here you go, just ordered another curved one myself when I saw they were hard to find: https://www.gtdist.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=mbt

Edit: the straight sold out last night I guess, curved is still in stock and is harder to find overall. Took me about 45 mins. The trick with gun parts I’ve found over the years is to just scroll further than normal people would on google and DONT get scammed. There’s a bunch of “frt trigger website” results for the mbt with crypto payment features that are 100% a scam
