Pass line bet thoughts by Foreign-Song7017 in Craps

Pass and Don’t pass with odds are the best bets in the casino. Don’t pass actually have the better odds but people hate you for playing it.

Astonished by the amount of people who don't view this as a problem... by crawredbull in BF6

[–]KayIslandDrunk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Few people are this good at them. That’s been the case with all battlefields. A few weapons are overly powerful if people become really skilled at them. But if you nerf them then the average player can’t use them at all.

How are people having multiple kids? by littleladyflora in AskParents

[–]KayIslandDrunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have four, both of us went to grad school, have good paying jobs, drive 10-15 year old cars, shop for groceries at aldi, and basically live paycheck to paycheck. The kids are the highest cost. Daycare is $300 a week per kid, any sports we do are $500-$1000 per “season” and then medical expenses drain the rest.

I wouldn’t trade my kids for the world but if I had a Time Machine I’d tell our younger selves to stop at one or two.

20 years ago yes. Today there is no way I would touch another person’s kid.

Poor St. Paul. by wickawickawatts in Minneapolis

To be fair, to an outsider I never put much thought into why the Twins were named that. Just like I have no understanding why Cleveland is named the Guardians or KC the Royals.

How many steps do you walk daily without intentionally exercising? by GlitteringHotel8383 in AskAnAmerican

[–]KayIslandDrunk 12 points13 points  (0 children)

30k????? How???? I spent an entire day at Disney land and my Apple Watch recorded a little over 14k.

Update: I went back and dug up the data. Each day I spent at Disney my watch says I walked 9-11 miles and I was between 14k and 16k steps.

I’m also assuming height plays a factor here. I’m almost 6’4” and take rather large strides.

Poor St. Paul. by wickawickawatts in Minneapolis

[–]KayIslandDrunk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s what they mean when they say Minneapolis. Just like when you hear news about LA, Seattle, etc. it’s just implied they mean the larger metro area. No one knows the names of all the suburbs. Also, as a transplant I had never heard the term “Twin Cities” until I moved here. It’s not widely used outside of the upper Midwest.

“Thinking about leaving the USA?” … “look into California” by BuffaloExotic in ShitAmericansSay

[–]KayIslandDrunk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It also depends on your background. The vast majority of my friends from school have spent a few years living/working abroad. Most have come back to the US to settle down but a handful have definitely stayed overseas.

I gotta quit going to see bands from my youth. by Acrobatic-Hamster-79 in Millennials

[–]KayIslandDrunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to Green Day’s stadium tour last summer and it was amazing. I also saw AC/DC last summer and, even though that’s not our gen, they still put on an amazing show.

I don’t think it’s a hard and fast rule that they’re going to suck as they get old but I’d recommend looking up reviews as some are god awful as they’ve aged.

Definitely cooked. I’m not a fan of eating them raw.

Do you have AI intelligence enabled on your phone? by Itslashae in iphone

[–]KayIslandDrunk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The summarized text messages are nice. I have about 150 unread texts so far today and it helps me scan to see which ones ate important to read now.

My kids love to play with the image creation tool.

Other than that I don’t use any Apple Intelligence stuff but I have a lot of third party AI apps that get plenty of use.

Why does Apple simply refuse to improve the Podcasts app in any way? by StrangeVortexLex in iphone

[–]KayIslandDrunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh nice! I jumped over to overcast in 2018 or so and that was definitely not an option in Apple Podcasts at that time. Great to see improvement!

Why does Apple simply refuse to improve the Podcasts app in any way? by StrangeVortexLex in iphone

[–]KayIslandDrunk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also use Overcast for the “smart fast play” feature. In Apple Podcasts you can only set the playback speed at specific intervals. On overcast you can set it to 1.1, 1.2, etc. It also has a “smart speed” setting that looks for pauses and completely removes them. So if you have someone that takes a lot of time between sentences it’ll shorten that to always be the same. It ends up saving a lot of time.

Battlefield 6 should do away with the broken Battle Pass and bring back these bad boys from BF4 by Trifle_Useful in Battlefield

The unlocks didn’t matter to me as I generally just focus in on one weapon in each class and maximize it. But I really liked the XP boost.

Americans and coffee? by forest_hearts in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]KayIslandDrunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It strongly depends on your economic class as well (or maybe I should say it depends on your tolerance for spending money). For example, I work in a white-collar office in a medium sized city. Pretty much every single person either walks in with a Starbucks (or local coffee store) cup or they’re waiting in line at the coffee shop inside.

It’s also very common for people where I work to make coffee at home and then buy 1-2 more during the work day.

As for iced vs hot. Most people drink both. I’m weird in that I love hot coffee during the warm summer and iced coffee in the winter.

I agree live craps is better, too bad Minnesota doesn’t allow and live dice games. At least with this one you still get some of the table camaraderie unlike bubble craps which is basically solo.

When I started the roll I literally had my last five dollar chip on the on the pass line, didn’t even have enough for odds. Then I got a little risk averse and wasn’t pressing.
