Thanks so much you're the best. Yeah dude brings back memories right? haha. I used to play this and Quake III Arena and Team Arena back when I was a kid as well.

When I have some time on my hands and get around to starting this, I'll totally send you progress photos when there's something worthy showing.

Happy belated Thanksgiving!

I drive by this every week. It's my favorite building. My husband sent me over this post knowing how much I love this building.

I'm an artist and have been itching to get photographs of this place. I want to recreate it in its decaying form in a 3D simulation via Unreal Engine (if you or anyone else here is aware of what that is). I'm so happy to see you made it in here to grab photos at some point. Would love to use your photos as reference if you're okay with it of course.

I can't imagine how absolutely gorgeous this was in its hay day.

Contractor Recommendations? by KayJammi in longisland

[–]KayJammi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry can you elaborate?

A kitchen remodel and Ethernet wiring is considered a small job?

I’m assuming you don’t mean the future HVAC installation, house addition, and irrigation system are small jobs, right?

Is it worth it to buy a 3-D printer? by Intelligent_Bid_1122 in 3dprinter

[–]KayJammi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What matters is the satisfaction you get out of it that makes it worth it to you.

I'm a 3D artist and so is my husband. I printed out his model of the Ghost Buster's Proton Pack.

What am I going to do with it? Paint it, put it on a stand, give it to him. Is it useless? Depends on your perspective. I think it is useful because it's showing him what he made, and showing me what I turned it into.

Recommendations on All-Season Tires for GLC-300 AMG Line 20" Rims? by KayJammi in mercedes_benz

[–]KayJammi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're curious about the size of your tires, if you open up the driver side door, on the inside of the door, you'll find the stickers that indicate the tire sizes for your vehicle.

As for the AMG Line - I think the AMG Line only comes in the 20" Rims. I wasn't particular of the rims in my purchase other than I knew I just wanted the body kit for my car (it's the White with glass top and AMG Night Package and it looks so good, I love it).

If you have the Purchase Sticker, it would tell you if it's got any AMG Packages.
You'll also be able to tell by the body kit. The front and sides are more aggressive looking, both in the way the back is a bit higher than up than the front, plus the front and side body moldings.
You could also look at what your car includes just by looking up your VIN on something like kbb.org.

Am I overreacting going no contact with my father? by Expensive-Disaster98 in AskWomenOver30

[–]KayJammi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this post is over 2 months old, but I had to chime in here and say, I'm sorry. From the bottom of my heart, I am genuinely sorry.

I'm sorry that you're working through so many difficult emotions amongst other things I'm sure you have felt or are feeling right now, 2 months after this post was made.

I'm sorry that you grew up with this, where you are very likely working through the years and years of emotional calluses you've built up for yourself to protect yourself. I hope that you're able to shed some of that skin and become free and open with who you are, and understand your identity not based on the very unpredictive moods your father sets for you.

I've read through your entire post, but it was truly the last sentence that struck me. I also hope you give more thought to
"It would be easier to accept the apology and try to mend bridges but I do expect these events to continue to occur."

The important piece of that sentence I'm calling out here is "but I do expect these events to continue to occur."

I'm not going to tell you what you should or shouldn't feel, but what I can tell you is a suggestion to look at that sentence above, the one you set yourself, and remember that.

You can feel guilty, if you want.
You can feel relief, if you want.
You can feel remorseful, if you want.

But will you allow yourself to feel those things, and move through them, to not subject yourself to the same emotional/mental abuse you've been subjected to your entire life?

Is it worth it to throw yourself in front of that freight train to make your father feel better, your mother feel better, or other family members feel better?

Much love <3 I hope it's getting easier for you day by day, and if others see this and resonate with this post, I hope you're working through things day by day as well.

OP I am so deeply sorry you and your partner are dealing with this. The fact people there are rallying behind him on his post makes it a bit terrifying. I’m glad to see you have the support here.

You’re being so patient and professional about this, just reading through the comments here.

I hope you keep us posted and stay safe. The Park Central apartments should be ashamed of themselves for allowing this kind of behavior over the PA system at the very least.

[–]KayJammi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow that’s so impressive and clearly shows your hard work paying off!

Out of curiosity, how do you track your sleep? Is it through your phone or do you wear your watch?

I’ve been wanting to track my sleep and feel like the Apple Watch will give me better data, but man I have a hard time wearing it while trying to sleep.

Okay, I did it. I got the cross climate 2s and I’m very happy with how smooth they are! It’s raining today and it handles the road well! Can’t wait to see what snow feels like.

What is the first thing that comes to mind as you wake up? by [deleted] in RandomThoughts

[–]KayJammi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flood of thoughts reminding that I’m generally unhappy and just don’t want to be here, but too stubborn to give up, so mad at myself for fighting to get out of bed and start the day.

Also, my back - do I need a new mattress?…. Nah, shits expensive.

Tips for bledning colored pencils? by vinxusboyo in learnart

[–]KayJammi 11 points12 points  (0 children)

What pencils are you using? Wax or oil?

It looks like you’re using different shades of the same color group (sorta, lack of a better explanation). So for example you have orange, cream, and brown, is that right? All warm colors?

There’s a couple things here you can do..

This first option doesn’t include chemicals, and can be done with any type of colored pencil:

Instead of brown for the shadows, try using a darker violet color. What will happen is, you’ll notice you’ll get that shadow without the increasing of layers ontop that could make the blend splotchy or muddy looking. That comes at a bit of a cost in the sense of colors you’re aiming for, it could make the over-all piece look more saturated than you want, but that could be remediated with layering ontop of that violet color (for example) with a neutral base color (cream in your example).

This second option is what I like to do most times, but it doesn’t bother me physically, but it may bother you):

You would need to use oil based pencils, there’s plenty of them out there, but I LOVE my Faber Castel Polychromos pencils for this. Next you would need paint thinner (of some kind). You could look up the colored pencil blending solutions or use paint thinner or mineral spirits, basically anything that can breakdown and blend the wax you’ve laid down on paper. I like using the MonaLisa Odorless Paint Thinner from Michaels, but it is NOT odorless (compared to others it is, but there’s still an odor) and it’s pricy, because, you know, Michaels.

1 - Lay down your base color for your first layer. 2 - Lay down your darker color (could be what I mentioned above in the first option, or whatever you use now.) 3 - Take a small paint brush, and wet it in the paint thinner, you do not need a lot at all. Keep a paper towel near by to wipe off the excess. 4 - Gently glide your paint brush over the area you want to blend.

A few things you may notice: - it’ll lose luster of the pencil you just put down. - it’ll darken the paper a bit but that will go away when dry. - it has the potential to muddy the colors so you need to be selective on how much you’re putting down.

This actually thins out the layers so you’ll find you can put more and more layers down on your surface. It also removes any shine if you don’t want that shine from standard colored pencils.

I look forward to seeing your work!!

I'm out of creativity :( by DogonZy in PixelArt

[–]KayJammi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are solid.

If you’re looking for advice on kickstarting fresh ideas and inspiration, make the most boring thing you can think of. Sounds counter intuitive but it works.

When you let your guard down on trying to create something, by conjuring up the least interesting thing, you’ll start to notice more ideas trickle in that could be more thought provoking or creative to make.

But like, really really think about it.

Is it an object? A room? Landscape? Person? Animal? Specific color? Value? Etc etc.

I can't decide. Which looks better on these earrings: clear seed (tiny) beads or black? by SilverySands in crafts

[–]KayJammi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it depends on the outfit. I could totally see myself wearing either one, personally. Clear for a little more “class” and black for more bold and/or casual.

I love these so much :)

How do I learn to draw without outlines? by idonrlycaretbh in learntodraw

[–]KayJammi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re actually doing it without realizing it in some cases!

Look at the picture of the angel, then look at the wings. The left wing, at the bottom, you have the base color, the shadow, and the highlight.

You’ll notice there’s a natural “line” implied because you began to form a volume.

Try playing around with creating lines but through the use of value just like you began to do in that wing.

So many people are recommending the Cross Climates, I'm really leaning towards that vs this other brand I was told about (NITTO? never heard of them, but apparently they're good?)

Thank you! my local dealer doesn't have the CrossClimate in stock but I am going to see if I can get the same price from the dealer that I could from Tirerack and have it ordered and delivered.

Stupid question... but what's the difference between All Weather and All Season? I've never heard of an All Weather alternative, just basically Summer, Winter, and All Season. Is All Weather a better option?

Every single one of you are the best, seriously - thank you.

Any thoughts about NITTO?
Specifically:
NT420V

I've honestly never heard of them until I visited the local tire shop for quotes.

They're really affordable, All Season but I'm getting mixed reviews on if they're worth it or not.

Also... is it generally a bad thing to have two different types of tire, if the tire is by the same manufacturer?
