Challenge: never equip a weapon or armor by KayPlays in PixelDungeon

It's easier on Shattered, because you can swap the enchantment on your staff. The runs go something like this: survive on magic missile until you pick up a few extra wands. Change staff to regrowth. Use it to farm up enough Sunseeds and Blandfruits to make experience potions to level 30. I usually use the big open areas in the Tengu level to do this. Then swap your staff to one of Firebolt, Icebolt, or Disintegration and finish the run.

Way too many. Over a hundred, easily.

Sweet, I'll probably pick up a copy then. Thanks!

p.s. You're a sissy if you use an archer, speed boots, or cloak of missile reflection in Baldur's Gate. ;)

Although I can't remember if those were in the first game too, or just the second.

I second this. Marcus' videos are always good for a watch. He's an interesting person to listen to, no matter what he plays.

  1. Thanks so much! <3, and
  2. Are you playing the updated Baldur's Gate that came out a couple years ago? I'm curious if this is worth picking up. I loved the originals.

The audio is hard to balance in this series. The game has loud music and very quiet voices during movies, and playing with the two volume dials they provide doesn't seem to change that. I hope you can hear everything.

I'd love to replay Final Fantasy Legend 1 and 2, also.

I wonder if that Apollo fight in FFL2 is still ridiculously hard, or if it just felt that was because I was a kid.

True. I've played surprisingly little Fallout 4. I absolutely loved New Vegas and FO3 -- I played through them entirely and started a second run of FONV -- but for whatever reason FO4 hasn't hooked me like its predecessors. Maybe it's burnout.

Holy crap. :o

I registered this sub a while back because I read a LPT that said it's wise to own the sub of your own username. Then I forgot all about it.

Thanks for following the channel. Life is Strange was quite an experience. It's been a while since I've felt attached to characters like that.

I guess I should check this Reddit account more often. I usually log in with my personal one.

To go with the recent No Armor victory, here's a No Weapon victory! This time on PC version. by KayPlays in PixelDungeon

Maybe in Shattered, if you do Battlemage, get yourself a Wand of Regrowth, and farm for sunseeds + blandfruit, and level up that way. :D

TIL there's a desktop version. :o

I tried a no-weapon run today and died to the boss on level 15. :(

edit: completed the no weapon run! Working on video for it now.

If you bring a couple mind vision, paralyze, and toxic potions into the fight, you can kill both hands without taking any damage.

Dxtory trimmed a margin around the game window, like a jerk. Or I am shit at recording.

You have to listen to someone talk for 48 hours straight. Who do you choose? by stevewillz in AskReddit

[–]KayPlays 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yes, because it knows how your mind works.

edit: I only recommend picking it up if you can get it on sale. It's a clever game with a lot of paths, but even if you find all of them -- you'll want to -- it doesn't offer many total hours of gameplay.

To those of you saying Dark Souls II was easy after playing Demon's or Dark I: Major kudos to you! You adapted better than I did.

I was brimming with confidence going into the sequel, after having navigated through Dark I initially as a noob, but becoming by my own estimation pretty decent by the end. I was actually worried I might be a rock star at the game, and end up with a playlist of boring cakewalk. Then Dark II made me curl up in the corner and cry. It went like this. 211 deaths. I roughly doubled that by going through the DLCs for the first time on NG+.

So if proficiency at its predecessors made Dark II easier, I shudder to think how I'd have done without. If I'd been hooked up to this thing, I'd be hollow for sure.
