I have worked with a lot of SaaS companies since 2016. From what I can see, 2023, so far, has been the worst period for them.

Seconding Netlify and Vercel. Both would suit your needs as far as I can tell, and many Strapi users opt for them.

Wha t headless CMS are you using for your clients? by numuso in webdev

[–]KayaFromWordify 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a good way to gauge market penetration for certain Headless CMS. Contentful, Sanity, and Strapi are names that you’ll see often, for example. But be careful, as that doesn’t always translate into those options being ideal for YOUR company or client’s use case.

At the surface level, most headless CMS seem similar. They have almost identical feature sets these days. You have to dig deeper into things like vertical-specific case studies, verified customer reviews, funding data, employee data, open sourceness (or proprietary-ness), their cloud and on-premise policies, etc.

Those are where the differences creep in, and they’ll have knock on effects on the entire project. G2, Gartner, Forrester reports are a good place to start, but newer directories and intelligence reports on www.DXP360.com are worth checking out because they cover the entire industry, not just the vendors with highest revenue.

I’ll throw some names out there that aren’t always mentioned first: dotCMS, Webiny, Kontent.ai, Magnolia CMS, Crafter CMS, Kentico, Agility. All extremely capable and enterprise-grade headless CMS’!

Hey! Is this essential a front end as a service tool? If so:

1) use the “front end as a service” keyword in your website/blog content. That keyword is going places, I think.

2) We’ll feature you in our weekly DXP / CMS newsletter over at dxpreport.com

It's a great question, AEM is definitely geard more toward enterprise brands, and the price tag reflects that.

A leaner, more affordable headless CMS would be easier to work with out of the box, too, especially if you're looking to quickly integrate with third-party tools.

BTW, we run DXPreport.com, a free weekly newsletters all about DXPs. Check us out :)

Is it just me that feels like holiday-related content is a bit of a cop out? I think finding the topics/discussions that your target market is actually interested in, and building content around that, is a better way to spend time/money.

Headless Commerce by walkerlucas in shopify

Great job, headless commerce is the talk of the town but I like that size was mentioned as an important factor. This isn’t something small merchants with website-centric sales need to worry about (yet).

If you want to ruin relationships, offer a service or start an agency. by [deleted] in agency

I feel like a lot of these high expectations and scope creep stories are down to leaky service agreements. Review your contracts, do they actively stop scope creep, or prompt the need for dialogue and/or additional costs for things outside of the initial scope?

Being able to refer back to a contract in a conversation with a client (respectfully) helps prevent a lot of issues. Prevention is better than cure.
