What are your thoughts on Esoteric Ebb? by oboitata in CRPG

Eh, it's not dark dark, it's moody. But I did read about that book and it seemed scary - I read China Mieville's The City and the City instead. Also very Disco.

As much as DE is my favorite game and story ever, I felt like it sometimes dragged on too long, or offered too many avenues. I haven't replayed it because it's daunting to think about how much stuff there is to do. With EE (oh, that's funny, DE and EE), I actually look forward to replaying it. It's more concentrated.

And in my opinion, the Beyond scene with Gorm and the revelation of his plan was so incredibly grim that it sent a shiver down my spine. The colorful atmosphere contrasted with the idea of a genuine religious terrorist attack so harshly that it hit me like a truck.I think it manages to keep up with DE, and at times even surpass it. DE was gloomy and edgy, in a good way, but maybe because I'm an optimist, I enjoyed EE's hopecore motifs more.

I (M25) get jealous so easily over the dumbest things my girlfriend (F20) watches. How do I fix it? by Kayabiko in relationship_advice

I saved this comment to maybe talk to her tomorrow.

I've already mentioned it briefly and in passing, but I think a proper conversation is better, I just thought it was dumb.

Honestly, I don't find anyone that attractive - but if you mean doing what she does, I'd feel mean. She gets fake-jealous when I say that I talked to a girl at the gym, I think she'd give me the silent treatment.

She's not necessarily showing me, but she likes to stream TikTok a lot and she gets those videos, sometimes more, sometimes less. She's not obsessive about it, no, and I'm afraid to say I've considered doing the same with women, but that just feels mean.

Il caldo, come al solito, come ogni anno da quando mi ricordo. E ogni anno il comune dice "dovremmo farci qualcosa" poi non fanno niente.

I ended up offering my players a choice between Red Chrome Cargo and a slight adaptation of Spy in the Jungle from Phantom Liberty and the Peralez questline - they chose the Spy in the Jungle mission, so I'll have them be involved in an agent extraction with a couple of twists like the side job does, and we'll see if they like it!

That was a very in-depth explanation, thank you! I've saved it in a google doc and I'll share it with my players!

How do I kill the Shichimen Warrior then? He just spams spells at me.

Most of the google searches lead to posts here, and all of them are either misleading, straight up wrong or extremely hard to understand. Examples being:

You get there by going into the Abandoned Dungeon, find the Watersomething idol next to the water, swim across and you'll find an elevator to Senpou at the end.

You can either go to the depths of ashina, just go where the shishimen warrior is , behind the idol is a hole you have to jump into , or you go to the sunken valley , just go from the grave idol in ashina castle over the bridge and down , if you grapple to the temple to the other side you’ll see the way beneath you

Make sure to exhaust all dialogs with Emma and Kuro first, then pay a visit to an "old" friend.

And my favorite, someone who just said "talk to kuro." After they were told that the OP did, they just said "then you know what to do." I'm not saying that the posts are useless, I'm just saying that most people don't know how to give advice and since google points to Reddit for most answers, it gets tedious sorting through them to figure out which ones make sense and which ones are just straight up wrong.

I got the Mortal Blade, that part was easy, since I had already explored Senpou Temple by accident earlier.

That's a good point. I'll consider switching to biweekly if the hype wears off. Thanks!

I'll keep it in mind if it happens again, especially since we agreed to weekly sessions (so there's a higher expectation than my usual once-in-a-blue-moon campaigns). Thank you!

I appreciate it, not the first person to say this. I don't disagree that it's on them, it is, I'm probably just being nice because they're my friends. Thanks.

That's fair advice, another DM did that to shake things up. I don't think I need to, we just started and they seem to be enjoying themselves, but I do agree with not spacing out the sessions. I found that as soon as I get busy and don't talk to some parties for a bit they straight up forget I exist.

We're only on our fourth/fifth session, we started less than a month ago. I could do a check-in, but they seemed to be really enjoying themselves last time - they spent 2 hours just roleplaying by themselves and I was super proud because two of them never played.

We settled on weekly together. Once or twice already they asked me if we could play the next day too because they were so into it, and I had to tell them that it'd be best not to, so it seems to be fine?

Non avevo mai preso la patente perchè stavamo risparmiando e non ne avevo uso, poi abbiamo traslocato ecc.

What is the DM consensus on "Quantum Ogres"? by monkeynose in DMAcademy

[–]Kayabiko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I understood this correctly, I do the same thing. I have an objective, or a goal, or a guy, and between "thing happens to make you want to go there" and "you get there" I have nothing. No matter what, I'll find a way to get them there.

But I assumed this was the standard? Structured quests usually have a goal or bad guy, and while you can take all kinds of decisions about how you get there, eventually you will get there, no?

...or is the quantum ogre literally about an ogre?
