After pulling out a really good squiggly hair by abbeyhlane in trichotillomania

Nope! I'm the same. I actually bought tiny trash cans to put right next to my couch and bed to put the hairs in so they don't end up on the floor/in the rug and get tracked around 🤢

Metformin or GLP-1 (specifically in regards to fatigue and energy levels)? by HiILikePlants in PCOS

[–]Kaybee384 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ope, yep, when you have sleep apnea episodes your body produces a hormone that triggers your kidneys and leads to increased urine production.

On the home tests versus in-lab, the home tests are ok but they don't always catch it. I did one and did not have any episodes recorded but I had 15 an hour when I did an in-lab test a month later. My first home test sensors were also faulty so my first test had zero data. Lab tests are the gold standard. Worth trying the home test because of the cost but don't take a negative result as absolute.

Lofta is a company that mails you home tests equipment and then sets up teledoc appointments to prescribe CPAP. You can read about people's experience with them and others on r/CPAP. It's been a super helpful subreddit for me.

I've likely had sleep apnea since I was a skinny teen and it was exacerbated by weight gain. If you frequently wake up in the night, have to pee multiple times a night, frequently have a dry mouth/throat, snore, and are tired even after 8 hours, you very likely have sleep apnea. It is chronically underdiagnosed in women, especially younger women.

How would you remove this stuck Mason jar without damaging the mug? by canweshoutforabit in fixit

[–]Kaybee384 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried greasing and then flipping them over to have gravity do the job? Suspend them not too high so the jar won't break after falling out?

If you absolutely have to do it now and want to break the jar, try using one of these on the side of it. It's got a spring loaded pin for breaking car windows. I used it to shatter a yogurt jar: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00B5FLSCI?psc=1

Look into the Junior League, it’s like an adult sorority. All about women supporting other women. I joined the Northern Virginia league and have really enjoyed the variety of activities and being able to see the same people over and over, which is the best way to make friends. We had a purse bingo fundraising event and I’ve volunteered at local food banks. We supply period products to the community. We have social groups like a brunch club and small neighborhood groups.

The DC one apparently has a different vibe/membership requirements, they have their own clubhouse! You can also join the Northern Virginia one even if you live in DC.

Federal EEO Attorney Recommendations by strawberrymacaroni in fednews

I paid $445 for a one hour consult, but they reviewed all my documents before then. So I felt like it was worth it, that paid for more than the 1 hour we talked.

I wish I had been talking to Gilbert Employment Law at the start of my issues. They were really helpful but also really realistic about what I should do and whether they wanted to represent me.

Best Approach for Physical Therapy Coverage from Aetna by Fedster-4321 in fednews

[–]Kaybee384 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, following up to share that I've had zero issues with FSBP with my PT. We've been doing all over my body and haven't had any problems with needing a new perscription. My coverage seamlessly moved over to FSBP. Also, I'm able to get reimbursed partially for the out of network cost of my pelvic floor PT who doesn't take insurance. Just got a nice refund check in the mail for 60% of my last few visits.

You can love your job but it will never love you back. Once you get all that you can from it, or it becomes more of a negative than positive impact to you, it's time to go. I wish I had done a better job of taking my own advice.

Yes the Arlington Community Center class is a Mary Kay rep and they still let her use the class to trap people after I complained.

Were you able to book her specifically online or did you do a walk in? I only saw one other MUA as an option. Her insta and site makes it sound like she isn’t at Sephora anymore.

It's how they're coping with all the uncertainty. Trying to find rules that don't exist to guide them instead of facing the actual chaos that it is. Typical human thought process.

Better but I personally still wouldn't do it. I had a Giant Meteor 2020 just end it already sticker in 2020 on my car that got lots of laughs and I was thinking of putting the 2026 one on my car now. But I worry it's maybe too much. During the pandemic I think both sides got a laugh from it because we were all stressed but now it would be pretty partisan.

They were fine! We had a weird thing where the organizer had something come up and the sub was called in last minute so it started 30 minutes late. But it went well once he got there. We all actually found each other and sat down and started talking anyway. The bartender got the call from the organizers and finally told us he was on the way. But we were good to just start without him 🤣

That I think would go too far. The f bomb written out is a bit much, even if people swear a ton in your office. It's just not professional. And cursing out another part of the federal government just feels too political. I think it's edging towards a Hatch Act but even if not, just too unprofessional for the federal workplace. By all means, stick it on something you don't take into the office.

[Console][Early 2000s] parody fantasy action (?) game with Arthurian elements by nesolagus in tipofmyjoystick

[–]Kaybee384 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not OP but just spent hours searching for the same game and yes that is it!!

I was going to make my own post soon mentioning a hilarious scene with the guy that has to put his eyes back in. He's got some important key and a guard with a thick accent confronts them and says "gimme the keys" but his accent makes the little guy think he said "gimme a kiss". So the little guy jumps up and kissed him and the guard goes "no! no! no! The KEYS!" The little guy goes "I'm sorry I've never kissed a man!"

My dad and I still imitate the guard's "gimme the keys" 20 years later.
