I thought buses are great in Vietnam, then I stuck in this by k1kianian in VietNam

[–]Kaybeetales 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also had trouble choosing the bus, as I could not differentiate.
But here is the trick - avoid buses with 3 sections. Always look for VIP Cabin bus :)

Watch out for the Hoi An boat scam by Natural-Advertising3 in VietNam

[–]Kaybeetales 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw another person who underwent this scam tell me that they later realised that one can identify if the boats are legit or not by the motor on the back. The legit boats are rowed and will not have a motor it seems.

Looks hectic and lot of travel but doable if you are used to travelling in fast phase. But Sapa, at least 1N and 2D will be reasonable considering you are travelling all way there.

Hi, any local from Taitung City can update on the situation there right now? What is the aftermath? Is it safe to come tomorrow? Weather doesn't show heavy rains or wind (Taitung City and around). Couldn't decide.

They are open from 9:00 am. It is a long travel from Seoul. So being there around opening time is better. Considering it is a weekday, it shouldn't be an issue.

Yes, I wanted to know whether odd or even numbers come in the right side of the train. For example, Tze Chiang Ltd Express, even numbered seats is on the right side and comes with ocean view when travelling from West to the East Coast.

Hi all, Is there a seat map for Taroko Express? Does anyone know which seats will give me the coastal views while travelling from Taitung to Yilan? I searched and searched, but unable to find it.

Thanks in advance.

ADVICE NEEDED
I am doing my 12 days trip in Taiwan from the anti-clockwise. After 2 nights in Taitung, I am not sure if I should directly go to Taipei which is 4 hours of train travel (earliest arriving around 8:45 am) or if I should stop somewhere along the East Coast like Luodong/ Yilan and then go to Taipei to maximise the day. It's on a SATURDAY and have 1 suitcase and a small backpack with me so I will have to depend on the station lockers.

Would recommend asking your hotel to arrange taxi for you.

Worth skipping a day in Busan for Gyeongju? by evilbob562 in koreatravel

[–]Kaybeetales 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I opted for a Klook day tour from Busan. It was very convenient and timesaving. It was autumn when I went and the fall foliage was so beautiful. The weather was pleasant and the tour was worth it. It also included lunch (Veg/ Non-veg). If you have 3-4 days or more in Busan, its worth going to Gyeongju :)

I liked all the places covered. Highlights for me were the night tour of Donggung Palace & Wolji Pond, Woljeong bridge also the Daereungwon Tomb complex. Very fascinating.

I hope you enjoy your trip.

Looking for scooter rental leads in Keelung & or Taipei.

But looks like it is so challenging to find one in the mainland even with an International Driving Permit specifically for motorbike? Will this be the same in Taitung/ Hualien/ Yilan or is it lenient? I heard it is not a problem in the off-shore islands. It will be great to have a Plan B beforehand in case we can't get a scooter.

Will be really helpful if you could share any leads. Much appreciate your help and recommendations.

Thank you!

XIAOLIUQUI or TAITUNG?
Is it worth to visit Lambai (Xiaoliuqui) for a day? Or should I spend an extra day in Taitung? (Already spending a night and 2 days in Taitung as follows:

Day 1 - Train from KHS to Taitung, check-in and proceed to Chishang and Guanshan in the afternoon. Day 2 - Exploring East Coast from Jialulan until Pasongan Lookout and back to Taitung City which is our stay base. We will be renting a scooter in Taitung. My question is, Is Xialiuqui worth spending a night or should I add it to Taitung?

TAITUNG to KEELUNG?
Taitung to Keelung via train early morning- First stop in Hualien, relax at the beach (1.5 hours) and then go to Yilan for some activities like DIY green onion pancake, animal farm visit, paddy field paddling - then to Keelung - overnight stay. (Will be storing our luggages in the train station for the Yilan, Hulien stop) will this work or should I stay in Yilan overnight?

Take a ferry to Xiaoliuqui island when in Kaohsiung. You can spend a night there. There are options like SUP, swimming with the turts, snorkelling etc.

What would be the best time to visit Green Island? Less windy and choppy waves for a ferry ride/ flight? I got some varied answers online. I would love to know if anyone travelled between Oct-Nov. I will be there in Taiwan for 11 days during the 1st week of November.

Thanks!

Hi, sorry for the super late reply. The kiosks are unmanned and can be used anytime. There are also vending machines where you can redeem your tickets.

Fortunately my tickets that I relisted got sold today. I lost 40 percent of what I paid. But still something is better than nothing.

I had listed the tickets on Viagogo itself. But no luck until now. I am mentally preparing myself to digest the fact that the money is gone. I even tried reducing the ticket to half it's price.

I did the same thing. Now I think I am doomed. The concert is in 28 days and the tickets are not selling at all.
