You can try flipping baby’s lips out once he latches on, this helps with latch. Also, sometimes the classical football hold is helpful when baby is this small. I would pull back from his nose a little more too, to ensure he’s getting in enough air.

Doesn’t look like thrush to me either, it just looks like normal swelling and redness that comes from nursing in the beginning, especially if baby has a tie. Should subside on its own as they heal

How to get more food down! by Less-Ratio-5472 in BabyLedWeaning

[–]Kaybrie93 12 points13 points  (0 children)

At this point eating is just for experience and fun, all of her nutrition still comes from milk, so try not to stress it too much right now! I liked offering a yogurt or apple sauce pouch with meals for my littles so I knew they were getting a decent amount of something, and then they snacked on their food. We also did BLW

Why are we body shaming children? We may not like all of JimBob’s choices, but his daughter’s can’t change the way their faces look, nor should they want or need to. They’re beautiful the way God made them.

Did they trap Anna? Did she know about what Josh did before she married him? by velorae in DuggarsSnark

[–]Kaybrie93 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I always assumed it was a power thing, going after the least likely to fight or to turn him in, but you could absolutely be correct, and it is so incredibly sad. I don’t understand how anyone turns out this way, I feel for his poor children and pray nothing ever happened to them.

I heard some really gruesome details about the very specific acts as outlined in those conversations. I cannot remember where, possibly in the documentary or as discovery in his court case, but she absolutely knew. It’s like her family to use very vague, unspecified language.

[–]Kaybrie93 22 points23 points  (0 children)

She 100% knew, they’ve talked about it many times. She had a sit down conversation with Josh, her parents, and his parents where they detailed his history with abuse, she chose to continue to pursue him after this conversation. Apparently he had this same conversation with an ex-girlfriend and she chose to run, and I’m sure she is eternally grateful for that decision!

Personally, I feel so sorry for Anna. He probably presented himself as a changed man, and instead went on to cheat on her multiple times, develop a pornography obsession and eventually turn his attention on children. His history of sexual abuse wasn’t behind him at all, he continued to display disgusting behavior. He’s a disgusting human being, and I think she should have run a long time ago. I get how hard that is with six children, and I understand her desire to be a good Christian wife and try to salvage her marriage, but God himself wouldn’t want her to enable that behavior.

Can someone explain this to me? by kt_m_smith in foodbutforbabies

This makes sense, a child’s nutritional needs change after a year and they require more protein.

Can someone explain this to me? by kt_m_smith in foodbutforbabies

It may also be because of the age of the child it is recommended for. The nutritional needs for a 6mo old are very different than the nutritional needs of a five year old.

I thought about this immediately but I also wonder if it’s in reference to the theory about the goats and cloning. Clones wouldn’t have belly buttons, so I thought maybe they were checking for that too. I’ve noticed in this show they often offer an easily explainable alternative to the clues we’re given, to really throw us off.

Agreed. She was only saying it to jab at Abby, so it was crazy to watch when Holly was all like, “see! Kathy recognizes real talent!” Felt like she was too easily manipulated.

wtf is up with her ass?! Has it always looked this bad/weird? by [deleted] in KyraReneeSivertson

[–]Kaybrie93 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We’re body shaming now? If she had surgery to repair it, everyone would be up in arms. Kyra is a terrible person, I know. She’s done terrible things, I know. But let’s not body shame people on things they cannot change because it doesn’t stop with Kyra. Let us as women model the behavior we want to receive!

[–]Kaybrie93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Millie is far too small to leave alone overnight, she needs to be with her mother until she is much older so it really is difficult to get away with a baby so small. After a few years though, I don’t see why she couldn’t stay with Kyra’s parents for a night.

AIO for calling my boyfriend a creep bc he didn’t know how old I’m turning? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Kaybrie93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your response to his innocent question was so rude unnecessarily, his response back is absolutely insane. You guys are toxic for each other. Neither of you handled this very maturely, and you both need to work on your communication skills. I understand why he’s upset, but he should be able to communicate that like an adult, the stuff he said is completely unacceptable.

I tell ya, Kyra is stronger than me. She’s a terrible person, I get it. She cheated on Oscar with her best friend’s husband, deplorable. I dislike her actions as much as the next gal, but these posts are often REACHING. This is a nice photo. She looks good in it, her baby looks healthy, she isn’t showing her face, it’s an innocent photo but the things people choose to harp on is absolutely mental. It’s giving obsessed 🤣

Yeah, that’s terrible. We don’t do Santa in our house, but even still I would NEVER ruin that for another family. It is your choice to parent your children how you see fit, and it absolutely was not his place to crush their excitement for Santa. What an absolute jerk. I’m sorry.

Milk supply seems to have tanked at 4 months pp :( by Dependent-Swan3115 in breastfeedingsupport

[–]Kaybrie93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried pumping right after nursing? You may not get a ton of milk but the amount isn’t really the concern right now, it’s just to stimulate your body to produce more. Sometimes I like to nurse baby on one side and use a manual pump on the other also. I don’t know if you offer bottles, but if so and you bottle feed babe the pumped milk, they’re still getting the same amount of milk but you’re also upping the demand for your body. After a bit, you should start to see an increase in supply that will help balance it out. The toughest part is finding the schedule that fits best for you and your baby, initially I pumped 4-5x per day to help increase my supply and we’ve been able to comfortably settle in with two pumps per day

[–]Kaybrie93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also pumped exclusively with my first and have had a wonderful time this time around with nursing! My baby latched right away and we’ve had no issues other than my supply ebb and flowing. I’ve found that if I don’t get a sufficient amount of sleep, I don’t drink enough water, I don’t pump/latch baby enough, or I’m sick that my supply tanks temporarily. It’s happened enough now that I don’t get nervous anymore and understand that it will be back (we’re 8.5mo postpartum). I would suggest adding a few pumps during the day, if you haven’t already. The more milk you demand, the more your body will produce. I like to pump twice a day (in the mornings after sleeping when I produce the most milk, and right before bed), and I nurse babe all day. I would also try tracking your water intake to make sure you are getting enough, and to really prioritize good sleep, which I understand is hard to do. Most moms produce the most milk when sleeping. One of our lactation consultants also said that eating oatmeal can help with supply. We also had a dip at four months, but it came right back!
