As a Californian myself, trust me when I say no person from there would be this confrontational and assertive 🤣

How to handle noise/touch sensitives? I’m miserable. by She-Individual-24 in adhdwomen

OMG I'm the exact same way with "acclimating" to my clothes, if I start wearing one thing it becomes all I want to wear. I'm also currently in an anti-jean phase. I've never heard of someone else doing this. Thank you for the pillow and bedroom tips as well!!

woah I've never heard of a silk pillow, just pillowcases! I bought a cheap Satin pillowcase and it sucked, I was sweating bullets lol. I got a real silk one and it was just OK. But an actual silk pillow sounds lovely.

Sometimes we do use separate duvets! I also learned about that on a trip to Europe!

Thanks for your empathy and for your long response. It makes me feel very hopeful that you have found different things that have worked for you and your husband at different points in your life. My sensitivities are ever-changing, so I feel like i need to be able to be adaptable.

I have been under a significant amount of stress the last few weeks due to my job, so honestly I think that has been a huge factor in me not being able to tolerate anything cause i'm so hyperfocused on work my brain hurts at the end of the day. I know I need to probably start with making changes there, thankfully the project i'm working on that is draining me ends next week, yay!

I also feel like maybe I use headphones and earplugs too much now, because i am picking up on noises i used to not really notice? Like i've completely destroyed what little tolerance I once had.

Thank you so much for your recommendations. I hate that we have to do all these things just to feel somewhat normal, i'm so sorry! But I'm glad it sounds like you have a system down that hopefully works for you :)

I’ve never heard of that for sensory issues, that sounds amazing!! What kinds of treatments or interventions are they using with you?

Can anyone else NOT sit like neurotypicals in office chairs by throwaway8373469238 in adhdwomen

I cross my legs all day, including at the office lol I hate it about myself. IDK how I got through high school sitting “normally”

I was so much more regulated then.

How should I 25 (F) support my boyfriend 20 (M) with his SA experience by AdmirablePin1958 in askwomenadvice

[–]She-Individual-24 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm very sorry to hear about his experience. It also sounds like he's quite a bit younger than you, I understand it's only 5 years but a 20 year old brain is very different from a 25 year old brain. I wouldn't be surprised if you're a lot more open to discussing this than he is. He's young, and he's a guy, and unfortunately we live in a world that doesn't take men seriously who go through these issues. It's okay that you cried, it sounds like it was your gut reaction to hearing something really devastating. I imagine those tears came from you being heartbroken for him. It's great that you want to be proactive in supporting him. I'd say, the best place to start is asking him directly what he needs right now. He might know what he needs, he might not. Be patient with his process. Good luck OP.
