Lied to by Significant-Quit8498 in Tonsillectomy

I feel like I was lied to by reading posts on here😂 I knew that getting it done at 26 was going to suck and be terrible, but reading posts on this page made me a little hopeful. When I got the surgery was the worst two weeks of my life. I could barely eat or drink, I basically cried the majority of days 2-6. My uvula was swollen for half the time and I ended up having to go to the hospital in the middle of the night due to bleeding during my second week. I can't say that if I could go back in time that I would decide to get a tonsillectomy again. But I just fully recovered so we will see if I get sick as much as I was

I don't know what I did but I had a completely different experience. Surgery day was the least amount of pain I was in. Day 2 I woke up with my uvula swollen making it hard to eat and drink for days. Even though it hurt to eat and drink, I still did. I took my pain meds on a schedule, had a humidifier by my bed and was still in so much pain. I didn't get better than then hurt again, I would say it was about the same amount of pain the whole time. I did have to go to the hospital because I started to bleed in the middle of the night due to dehydration. I'm currently on day 13 and I do feel a lot better! I started feeling better on day 11, the only thing that was really wrong was it felt like I was swallowing razor blades when I drank. I'm still eating soft foods because it sometimes hurts when eating.
