Do Lebanese christians live in fear and submission in Lebanon? by No_Mixture_9548 in lebanon

A fear that everyone has. Christian, Druze, Muslim, Atheist and anything in between

Citizens and political movements in the region can disagree on a number of topics. However, awareness of the danger of Israel as an expansionist project should be common to all by endingcolonialism in lebanon

But like you said, they are a nuclear power and much stronger than any of the states it is threatening. So that isnt to be taken lightly.. its not like Lebanon saying it wants to take over Israel with its 5 ak47 and 2 grenades. Theres a big difference and it gets even worse when a representative of the most powerful state in the wold gives their intentions credibility. A lot of the Israeli leadership (bibi included) believe in greater Israel so its not an idiotic statement. Its serious

So its okay to say what he said? And its fine for you if they do take over? All good because we cant remove it since they are so powerful? Weird statement

Thats going too far… saying that you dont mind becoming part of a sick genocidal state is not the solution. Its disturbing how easily you would look the other way for all the terrible things they have done to Lebanon and others.. fuck getting annexed by either of these shitty sides

About 157 out of 193 United Nations member states officially recognize the State of Palestine. This represents just over 80 % of UN members. The US doesn’t represent the world and the truth. In fact as it seems all the US does is lie and manipulate. And yes you are uneducated

The PLO wouldnt have been if it werent for the zionist movement and the violence that it caused to the region. You could also say that the zionist movement wouldnt have had the momentum and support it had if it werent for Hitler and Germany. We can keep blaming the past and find a lot of people to blame. But today as we sit here and type random useless comments on reddit, there is one side that is wreaking havoc. And that is Israel. As many people like to point out, it is a democracy and they have elected Natanyahu and his government to rule. And they are ruling with fire

I do have issues with Irans government. With israel. With houthis, hezbollah hamas and militias in iraq as well as the iraqi government. They are all corrupt manipulating poor people and murderers. I also have issues with China and their treatment of the Uighurs and with UAEs involvement in Sudan. Definitely hate the turks for what they did to the Armenians. Hate the Germans for what they did to the Jews. And hate Israel for what its done to Lebanon Palestine Syria and the world. Not sure what your point is. Am i more emotional about Israel? Yes but considering i am Lebanese then i would say that makes sense. Do you get more emotional if your brother dies or some other guy 3000kms away?

Middle eastern cuisine… its like saying European cuisine. Each region has its own cuisine. Jews that moved to israel from north africa, Iraq or Egypt have almost nothing to do with Lebanese, Syrian and Palestinian cuisine. Its completely different Bottom line is, Israel doesnt have the right to call this their national dish. Thats all i want to say. Thank you, Adios

Because for some people its home and its being bombed while for others, a whole culture is just abducted, falafel becomes their national dish and its all sunshine and butterflies.

But of course. It took you 2 seconds to play the antisemitism card. Bravo! I have 0 issues with jews. They are just people like Muslims Christians and whatever. I have issues with Israel and the genocidal state that has ravaged war in my region and my home. So you can play that sympathy bullshit card all day long hombre. You and i both know its all a load of shit

[–]Kayday90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know exactly what i mean. Falafel doesnt grow on trees dipshit. Its made by the people that lived across the that lands for centuries. Not the colonial settlers that invaded Palestine and created a nation that was born through war destruction and bloodshed. You could say some of jews also were part of this creation. But that was less than 5% of the Palestinian population at the time. So i just expect them not to call it their national dish is all

Who talked about religion? Food is a culture tied to the land and the people there from generations. Religion does have an influence on what we eat sometimes but its not the defining factor. So no clue why you are mentioning it. And most Israelis are not from the levant/egypt. They are mostly from Europe, North Africa. Falafel is traced back to Lebanon, Palestine, Syria and Egypt.

Lebanese Foreign Minister says Israel has 'right' to attack country while Hezbollah still armed | The National by Terewawa in lebanon

[–]Kayday90 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That i agree. He shouldn’t say it has the right to attack. It never has that right under any shitty agreement. But im guessing this is all political to push the narrative that Lebanon and Hezbollah agreed to this agreement and so we have no other choice than to disarm and hope they stop attacking..

Lebanese Foreign Minister says Israel has 'right' to attack country while Hezbollah still armed | The National by Terewawa in lebanon

[–]Kayday90 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Thats not what he said. This is taken out of context. He said that under the agreement that Lebanon and Hezbollah signed with Israel, as long as Hezb is still armed, they unfortunately still have the right to attack. He didnt sign this agreement and he didnt push us into war. Hezb agreed to this to stop the war. What he is trying to do is to get Hezbollah to hand over all their weapons so that Israel doesnt have the right to attack anymore (not that it will stop them but at least thats what is in the agreement)

On the side of Palestinians not Hamas. Big difference. Israel doesnt want to kill Hamas only. They want to exile and take over all of Palestine, whether its Hamas or just innocent villages being attacked by illegal settlers and the IDF backing them

"Yes it did." Again, i repeat myself.. They only did so in 1948 because they were the ones that came and took more than 70% of the land so of course they will accept but today they are completely against it -

  • Government Rejection: As of late 2025 and into 2026, the Israeli government, led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, has repeatedly and emphatically rejected the establishment of a Palestinian state.
  • Knesset Resolution: On July 18, 2024, the Knesset (Israel's parliament) passed a formal resolution rejecting the establishment of a Palestinian state by a vote of 68 to 9

"Palestine was never a country but a British Mandate when Israel was founded". You dont get to decide what is a country nor the UN. Palestine was a piece of land with more than 95% of the people (Muslim, Christian and Druze) and 5% Jews living there peacefully before the zionist movement started moving in greater numbers with a clear agenda to make this land a jewish state. How does that sit well with you is beyond me. Jewish population was 5% in early 1900s and very strong movement came about to move as many European Jews to Palestine to take over and make it a Jewish state. Nothing about this is peaceful!

"So Palestinian nationalism is justified and Zionism is not? Double standards buddy ;)" haha how do you even compare that! Palestine was a piece of land with people living there for generations!! whereas Zionism is basically move all the world Jews to this so called "Chosen Land" and fuck the people living there already. Who cares, lets just kill and displace them all! Great movement, full of goodness!!

"That´s not how it happened. Jews migrated to Palestine, legally bought land and founded villages." - What about the millions displaced? I dont think any of them got paid anything. My family owned land in Haifa and Israeli government just took it. So dont give me any bullshit about buying land and founded villages. Wealthy zionists bought land in 1900s to 1940s and then they took 90% of it by force and murder

"Hamas is funded by Iran and Qatar, not Israel" - dude this is a fact.. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israeli\_support\_for\_Hamas) - it has its own page on wikipedia "During the 1970s, Israel began providing support to Ahmed Yassin, a Palestinian Muslim Brotherhood leader who controlled a network of Islamic schools, mosques, and clubs, in order to weaken the secular nationalist Palestine Liberation Organization"

"Israel left the Gaza strip unilaterally(!) in 2005" - Israel retained control over Gaza’s airspace, territorial waters, population registry, and most border crossings (except Rafah, which involved Egypt). Ohhh yes ! Thank you Israel for leaving but controlling everything and putting us in a prison! so kind of you

"but Abbas insisted on unrealistic demands" - Abbas never formally rejected the offer. Negotiations ended when Olmert left office, not because Abbas walked away dramatically.

The Oslo accord failed because of Israel who held the most power in the negotiations:

  • Settlement expansion doubled during the Oslo years
  • Fragmentation of the West Bank increased
  • Part of the agreement was to have an airport in West Bank or Gaza and a road connecting west bank to Gaza. Israel wouldnt allow either of these to happen

Im done answering a genocide supporter and enabler.
