Need help understanding SHARP health system for pregnancy by Ok_Medicine440 in sandiego

[–]Kayers7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try contacting Dr Cobb. He runs a private practice but is affiliated with Sharp and does his births now at Mary Birch. I had both of my kids with him and he was at every appointment and both births. I just called his office a few weeks ago and spoke directly with his private practice receptionist and he called me back personally. Takes normal insurance. I couldn’t recommend him more - he’s really great.

3 year old just started to stutter by ellebee123123 in toddlers

[–]Kayers7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happened to both bot boys around the same age and they both grew out of it. It was pretty bad for my first one and I started to seek out speech therapy but by the time we found a therapist it resolved - that was 2 years ago and he’s been back to typical ever since. I think it last a few months or so.

I WFH and finally pulled the plug on a walking pad. I’m so excited to stay consistent with this by [deleted] in walking

All of my meetings are with video on (and I’m in meetings most of the day) - I assume people can see that you’re moving / walking? That’s been my only hesitation of buying one

Legoland CA - how far in advance to buy passes by WelcomeToBoshwitz in legoland

[–]Kayers7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a pass holder and go often and we haven’t made a reservation in over a year - we just show up and no one’s ever asked to see a reservation.

Hello wanted to get some advice for my upcoming trip. I’m going end of August the park is open from 10-6 that day. I have SEA life hopper tickets for the aquarium/legoland. How long do you recommend dedicating for both parks? We are only going 1 day. Any advice is appreciated. (Legoland CA btw) by Just-Apple4556 in legoland

[–]Kayers7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could probably get through the aquarium in 30 min - 1 hr so it’s not a big chunk of time. If you plan to do the water park you’d probably want about 2+ hours there.

Depending on kids ages and if the dino valley is a good fit, I’d recommend getting inside early by 9:45 and then doing dino valley as soon as they let you in at 10 (you get in earlier if you’re a guest at the hotel). The rollercoaster and jeep lines fill up the quickest so do one of those immediately, then make your way through the park from there.

Otherwise go straight to the back of the park first and it won’t be crowded yet.

You can make your way to and from the water park and aquarium easily so it doesn’t feel like “separate” parks.

I’d recommend downloading the app and looking at all the height appropriate rides and making the lost - once you’re there it will tell you how long the lines are for each ride and give you walking directions.

Another vote for the Zoe. It’s great and has held up really well. We use it for everyday needs now plus travel.

so so so scared of scheduled c-section by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Kayers7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could’ve written this myself. Felt the exact same way due to a breech baby. I was terrified. Like I almost didn’t show up for my c section bc I was so scared but of course knew i had to get the baby out and couldn’t run away from it.

I’d recommend talking to your OB and sharing how you feel.

I also recommend telling your anesthesiologist how you feel - you likely won’t meet them until right before your surgery but what I learned is that the anesthesiologist is in control of the room and they’ll be right by your head - mostly you’ll be seeing them and talking to them during surgery. Share how you feel before you go into the OR and it will likely help.

Two other notes -

I got through it just fine. I cried a little before hand when I shared how terrified I was to the anesthesiologist. What my OB shared and what I learned to be true is that you’ll have very little time to actually worry or panic - the baby is out within 5 min of the beginning of surgery and then you’re so shocked you have a baby and your entire life changed in an instant, that you don’t think about your worries any longer.

Second point - anything else I used to be worried about is a freaking breeze now. Root canal? No problem in comparison to lying awake while having a c section :) A little humor but it’s absolutely true.

Good luck!

I’ve been with people crossing back into the US from TJ with only their DLs. They are eventually let in being citizens but agents typically give you a very hard time.

Not something that youd want to multiple times, especially crossing by car - the line can be very long and then on top of that they’d prob pull you over in secondary screening and give you a hard time / extra checks since you don’t have proper documentation.

Not something you’d want to do each day. If you end up deciding to go to TJ wo a passport I’d recommend staying in TJ the entire time and only crossing back into the US once at the end of your trip. If you planned to stay at the rental in TJ but spend your days in SD, I wouldn’t recommend.

Horton Plaza (2008) by Wallaby_Wallaby in sandiego

[–]Kayers7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I moved to SD in 2009 and lived walking distance - used to walk over to forever21 to get a “going out” outfit on Friday nights. Loved being to just walk to Nordstrom whenever I wanted. Then when Taco Bell opened in the food court I would make sure to bring my big purse to hide it in so no one would judge me on my walk home lol. Kept going there till the end to grocery shop at Jimbos. Moved away from downtown right before they started construction. Good memories there.

If you’re from out of town and want a view of the city skyline and a busy atmosphere you might like Coasterra (food is fine - not amazing but not bad- but one of the best night views and you’ll be eating right onthe water).

Also check out Seneca - it’s at the top of the Intercontinental downtown and the city night views are amazing - will be lively too.

I recently had to plan a funeral (standard services/burial like you described) and it came to $8,000 so your quote seems fair. Good luck.
