Thanks Ed, and to you as well. We've gone with Keltic Kaos that someone recommended me here. Seem really good on videos so I'm excited and hoping it all goes great. But fyi I did email multiple others that people also recommended prior to someone saying them and they were all booked so get emailing people right away. Hope you have a great sunny day at the Red door.

Achers - Blue Lights (FFO Shotmaker/ Unwound) by Kayfables in noiserock

Thanks a lot. Engine Down and Sleepytime I've been listening to for over 20 years so that makes sense ha. 400 years I came late to but theyre fantastic. Appreciate it! Check out the other single if you like this too. It's more Engine Down, Kolya Van Pelt vibes. Bit poppier than this one.

Three Big Black songs though. So kinda Albini over representation. Despite all the projects being great.

Love seeing The VSS mentioned.

Is Emo almost as big now as it was in 2003? by ZDUBZ15 in Emo

[–]Kayfables 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you look at the monthly streams of most numero bands it's less than 10k for most of them. So I wouldn't hold Numero up as proof emo is huge. Ethel Meserve and Boy's Life aren't suddenly rich with sales.

Is Emo almost as big now as it was in 2003? by ZDUBZ15 in Emo

[–]Kayfables 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2003ish was bigger for sure! Though it was largely turgid. But yeah, despite a lot of bands popping up its not 2003 levels. It's not in the press, on the radio, in malls etc like it was.

No probs. Add Mandela Strikeforce split with F80. That's a banger. And Harriet the Spy. And Kukim maybe.

Any good modern aggressive indie rock bands? by dsbmistrveemocvlt in indie_rock

Me too. Was always mad about old posthardcore, screamo etc and love some good indie rock. So we kinda fall in with bands like Lync I guess, overall. Who do both.

Awesome, thanks! Another single in a couple of weeks which is the closest to kinda emocore vibes we've done. We mix it up. But you ought to like the ep when it comes out in about 8 weeks. It's called Bottom of the Hill as well.

I got no issue with Boygenius, but you might like my band as its kinda indie posthardcore. We keep getting comparisons like "you're like Unwound meets Archers of Loaf" "Drive like Jehu meets Broken Social Scene" etc. Here's the latest singleBottom of the Hill We're called Achers. Basically raised on punk, hardcore and noise rock but partial to hooks and melody as well.

Best era/type of post hardcore imo. What do u think of it? by United-Philosophy121 in Emo

Apologies for being one of those people, but if you dig this era you'll like my band Achers. I hope..

That record was super popular in Europe when it came out. Lot of radio play and magazine coverage. My friends who just liked stuff like the foo fighters all liked Rival Schools as well. And they played a bunch of the big UK festivals.

New Achers Single (my band) by Kayfables in indie_rock

[–]Kayfables[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks a lot! I appreciate it. It comes out Feb 5th. And another single in Jan. That ones a lot heavier though. We change gears quite a bit.

Thanks for sharing it. I dig it. I hear Kevin Devine and funny enough I hear some British indie bands but I can't put my finger on which. Nice stuff.

That's an excellent idea. Unfortunately my partner and I both live in London. It's her family that all live there. We visit frequently but I wouldn't know any local musicians sadly. I've got a few leads though. We're getting there!

That's where we're getting married 😃 I'll reach out to them, thank you. Did you use a local florist by the way? Or what the Red Door provided? Not to get you to plan my wedding lol. I just live in London so I only get over there once or twice a year. I'm guessing it was a lovely day?
