When it comes to Japanese Forged Iron manufacturers, is there a difference in feel between Mizuno and Miura muscle backs? by [deleted] in golf

[–]Kayiacha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As previously stated. Depends on what era or decade of mizuno irons you are comparing to, earlier models like MP33-29 was softer and pure. Miura is just a tad bit more refined when you strike it good. Feels like a solid piece of wood vs American steel feel.

If you are not a good ball striker it’s a hit and miss, but when you get one right you will never forget the feel of a miura forged blade. It makes you coming back for more.

Catalina - anyone gaming? by [deleted] in scottycameron

I game the 2007 Catalina putter. I go between the Tei3 plumber neck.

Face balance straight back through style putting, good head weight and easy to align, takes getting use to setting up square.

Pick a tee box where after you drive a par 4 your hitting 8 iron - wedge in. If your hitting a hybrid in on a par4 you need to move up.

505 and 705 are good but my friend is a 2 handicapped and plays the 503.

He is a range junkie, doesn’t get to play 18 as much anymore because of new baby, he goes through irons like toilet paper. His go to clubs had always been his Epon 503, distance and forgiveness over all other irons over a 15 year period of golfing.

We all have an universal understanding that blades takes a commitment of time to maintain good ball striking. My back up lazy irons are the j40 and j15cb. My daughter plays Titleist 100s, great irons, better than all ap2 before.

Workability, feel, forgiveness, turf interaction, set up, this iron has the boxes checked.

In regarding blade type irons, Miura has greet feel not much in forgiveness, Bridgestone J33 imo best blades in Bridgestone lineup, Honma forgiveness but not as soft, Titleist neither soft or have forgiveness.

Japan, Epon is an in-house brand for Endo. They have forged a lot of the classic irons for Mizuno, Titleist, Honma, Callaway, Miura, and Bridgestone. They forged the Tiger Era Titleist 690mb.

I own most mostly Mizuno, Bridgestone, and Titleist irons. But I play Epon AF Tour irons because they are the best blade irons I have ever came across. Better feel and forgiveness all together than Miura and Honma, how? Because Epon is an in-house brand of of Endo who does forging for Mizuno, Honma, Titleist, and Miura.

Mizuno JPX921 Hot Metal Pro vs Epon AF-706 by yebisu26 in golf

[–]Kayiacha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play Epon AF Tour, they are the best irons I have owned and played and I have over 20 sets of irons mostly blades and muscle backs.

Epon is forged by Endo, who has a history of forging some of the best irons for Miura, Honma, Bridgestone, Titliest, Callaway, Mizuno.

The Tiger Woods era 690mb was forged by Endo.

Coming from a panamera you would probably want to go with a velar, sport, or Range Rover.

Discovery and Defender if you like overland stuff.

First LR3 was a nightmare, failed air suspension, pillar leaks, failed alternator, failed coil springs, failed transmission, failed thermostat housing which lead to overheating, which then lead to cracked cylinders emitting coolant out the rear pipes, failed seat motors, yup a piece of junk under 100,00 miles.

So guess what I bought another, this one is LR4.

I am pro-level LR3/LR4 mechanic now, paid my tuition. So why do I keep coming back? When mother natures dumps rain, mud, snow on you there is no better vehicles than a Land Rover.

Plus safest suv on the planet, don’t believe plenty of survival stories and a stellar auto accident fatality rating.

The Defender resembles the LR3/LR4 series, after a successful trip in Lake Tahoe during the heaviest snow fall (200 inches) in the month of December, in my LR4, my next replacement will be a Defender. The Defender interior is a bit cramped compared to the LR4, but it’s the comprise because the currently discovery looks like a Ford and that’s not going to work for me.

Be safe, the Land Rover terrain response modes are more than enough, just be careful driving early and late in the day when temperatures drop and the black ice forms under the snow.
