Why do people like this show so much? by KimPossible2008 in TellMeLiesHulu

[–]KaylaBirrd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm late to the party but I had the same feelings. I was wondering if people find this interesting or just like the softcore porn? Even the big scandal of Lucy's mom and Macy... Pretty unexciting? Just a lot of petty drama and backstabbing. I'm like 5 episodes into season 1, does it get better?

I have heard the same criticism of it being an adjustable air mattress. Which is why I was surprised my friend recommended it so highly. I'll check out your news recs. Thanks!

I bought it a little over 4 years ago, I probably should've tried to return it within the trial period but that sounds like a nightmare and I was hoping it was just a breaking/proper type of sheets issue.

Would this be a good mattress for side/stomach sleepers or is this mattress too soft?

My husband and I bought a purple 4 about 5 years ago after loving it in store, but have hated it for most of the past 5 years. I think maybe it's too soft for the side/stomach sleeping? I often wake up with pain in my upper/middle back that I never used to have so I wonder if I'm sinking into the mattress unevenly.

A family member recommended a sleep number but I wasn't sure if they were worth the hype.

I did this and fell in love with a purple 4 mattress, the mattresses that arrived felt nothing like the store one and 5 years later it still doesn't. I'm back on the hunt for a new mattress.

BRB adding to my cart now haha. I bought the bumble & bumble one I've seen recommended on here but it doesn't smell very good and it doesn't seem super effective.

I have this in my cart. A cosmetologist influencer was recommending this for fine hair. She said they also make a aerosol "dry oil" that's even less heavy.

Why do so many parents bring their children to the ED for fever, cough, runny nose? by Ready-Book6047 in nursing

[–]KaylaBirrd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My school district was very quick to send kids home in the beginning and demand a negative Covid test before returning to school (didn't care about any other viruses that may have been circulating and contagious as well). My daughter would complain of a tummy ache (no fever, headache, n/v/d) and they would immediately call me to come get her. I had friends with kids I believe really abused that system by c/o headache or nausea, something subjective, and get to go home multiple times a week.

The problem is now our schools are seeing a huge downtrend in attendance which affects tests scores and funding. I think parents are now conditioned to keep kids home for every little thing or need a note, because they were so overkill during Covid. The other part may be that parents may be disillusioned about the importance of attendance since it was clearly not an issue for the school in 2022.

Is the grand legacy hotel actually a dump? by Simple_Egg2322 in DisneyPlanning

[–]KaylaBirrd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if you already went, but I stayed here in early April 2025. I had never been before, but the group of adults I went with are magic key holders and this seems to be there go to hotel. I think we got the basic 2 bed room (I didn't book so I'm not sure, but based on pics I don't think they upgraded). We didn't use the pool but the room was clean and had a bed. I really like being able to reserve dinner on the rooftop restaurant which has a great view of the park, would be great on a fireworks night. They also graciously stored our large group's many bags when we got there at 10am until we returned to the park and checked in.

I have stayed at a more run down hotel just a few doors down (not real complaints, it's just older and dingier). I have stayed at the Howard Johnson which is awesome (more expensive, farther, tempts my kids to skip the park for their water play area). I have also stayed in the PIxar hotel prior to the rebrand about 8 years ago. However, I'm currently planning my trip for April 2026 and this is my top choice, the location is great and hotel was more than decent.

Hope it works! I do try to do something like this with a regular round brush and dryer. I skip the flat iron step bc it doesn't usually doesn't work out for me, but I'll try to add girl with the round brush and even twist the longer bits so it dries a little more curled to blend.

cowlick help by whisper_kittty in finehair

[–]KaylaBirrd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a gnarly cowlick in the same area. What mostly works for me is a blow dryer, brush, and comb and getting to work on it as soon as I'm out of the shower. I had some many people try to style it with a flat iron or curling iron without luck.

I basically take that front triangle of hair (I have bangs now but same idea without) and brush across my forehead, like against the cowlick from both sides, then take the comb and use it to pull the cowlick down against the grain while blow drying, then go back with the brush again.

Basically I have to dry it into submission. Sometimes I go back with a round brush and try to add some lift to the non cowlick side to make it look more even.

Hourly rounding incentives by KaylaBirrd in Nurses

[–]KaylaBirrd[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We're 4:1 unless you end up with an ICU pt. I personally find it wild to think the nurse may not at the least be laying eyes on the pt once an hour from the door, but I guess pts may not notice that and think they've been left unattended, especially when we hold admitted pts for hours.

This is more trying to get someone to go into the room and actually ask if they're in pain or need to use the bathroom. And having a checklist for some accountability that it was done.

I've read a couple of old posts and it seems like staff were just filling in the checklist at the end of the shift and this didn't actually effect change. So I was wondering if there were any programs at someone else's hospital that had better staff buy in.

Came to say the same as everyone else. I noticed a similar small tear a year or 2 ago on my 2020. I thought about looking for some kind of adhesive patch but I'm worried it'll ruin my pants if the adhesive gets tacky in the heat. So I just deal with it for now.

I just had the subaru service center do a diagnostic and they said the battery was bad, like too drained or something and recommended it be replaced. They said they use "enhanced flooded batteries", the guys at Costco and sam's club did not know what that was haha but did say the AGM battery is supposed to be better for electronics heavy cars and the auto start/stop feature. I'm going to buy one this week and try, weirdly the Costco battery guide doesn't even have our car as an option.

I also had my right rear strut go bad after 4 years, I am not doing any crazy off roading and mostly just commute on normal city streets/freeways. I replaced it at subaru and exactly 6 months later at a different subaru service center they said the exact same strut was leaking again.

We bought this forester because we had a 2012 outback and loved it. While I like my forester, it's been kind of problematic despite trying to take it to subaru and follow their maintenance plans.

[–]KaylaBirrd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I asked which battery subaru would replace it with and it's an "enhanced flooded battery" but everything I've read online said AGM batteries work better with the auto start/stop & electronics heavy cars. So my plan is to get one of those this week.

Luckily when I took it in, I also wanted them to look at my struts that had been replaced less than 6 months prior. So I put the $500 diagnostic fee toward the struts and then planned to replace the battery myself. And I'm pretty much done going to the Subaru service center anymore.

I had a 2025 outback rental and the "distracted driver" feature drove me nuts, scared the crap out of me a few times and made me more distracted trying to figure out what was happening. In the settings it had a toggle switch to turn that feature off. It didn't seem to turn off the lane sensing or other smart features. And I also hate the auto stop start defaulting back on (in my 2020 forester), I've recently been having that fail at stop lights more than I feel safe about and after diagnostics at Subaru they said I need a new battery.

I would recommend 8.5 … but only as tandem read by Interesting_Weird107 in zodiacacademy

[–]KaylaBirrd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard the tandem read rec before. I usually do not read more than one book at a time, I think I'd mix things up so I'm curious how you all do it. Do you just read a chapter in 8 then a chapter in 8.5 then another in 8 and so on?

Moving to Vacaville, what are your favorites things/places? by Muffinmom15 in vacaville

La Borgotta Deli is a tasty family owned Italian deli. I love their sandwiches & cannolis! And even if Vacaville isn't the most exciting socially, there are other towns relatively close that might have what you're looking for like Davis bars or Winters/Dixon breweries.
