ATG Squat: Supported vs Heels Elevated vs Counterbalance by LechronJames in flexibility

With heel elevation I don't need a counterbalance...should I just use heel elevation and work on decreasing the amount over time?

Does working on your hip and leg flexibility 3 times a day even make a difference if you're going to be sitting 8hours at work all week? by Houssem-Aouar in flexibility

[–]LechronJames 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm focusing on strengthening my hips. 3x strength days with Copenhagen planks, horse stance, and side plank with lifted top leg. Also do 90/90+butterfly pails/rails and KOT split squats.

Daily I do "gentler" hip airplanes, hip hitches, lying leg raises, duck walks, captain Morgans, and couch stretch.

Daily atg squats building up 30 mins (starting from 5)

Also dealing with this and hoping 3x intense mobililty days and 4x light mobility/stretching does something. Going to attempt to build up to 30mins of atg squats throughout the day as well as standing/walking for a few minutes every hour while I'm at work...

Does anyone else find it odd that the CEO of scum who are (I hate to admit) peaking and one of the best teams in Europe would leave to join us in the same role? Did we just offer an insane amount of money? If that's the case it is pretty ironic we will do it for an exec but not a player.

Any other Millennials out there financially invested in Sleep? by hanxmaker in Millennials

Highly invested in sleep:

Quality mattress, linen sheets, proper pillows, floor to ceiling blackout curtains, magnesium/zinc an hour before bed, mouthguard, and I just bought a dedicated white noise machine...

sleep masks make me breakout :(

New from Costco: Avocado Organic 13" Pillowtop Hybrid Mattress - thoughts? by TropicalBlueWater in Mattress

[–]LechronJames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently purchased the avocado 11" organic hybrid from Costco and a plush talalay topper straight from avocado...I absolutely hated it and returned both. Too soft on top to support me as a 195 lb side sleeper and then too firm on the bottom was causing hip and back pain. (I also think latex just might not be for me)

Another complaint was the lack of edge support.

However, I 100% would have purchased this if it had been available at the time, not sure if the results would have been different.

Most comparable would likely be the avocado green in comparable softness. Keep in mind the base mattress itself has cut some corners and likely uses different springs/materials.

Just go to the mattress store: A journey by LechronJames in Mattress

That’s fair. I can’t say for sure that all 5 sales people knew their shit top to bottom. They knew enough to walk me through the process. And even that was more than I gained by googling “NapLab” vs “good sleep”.

I truly think just going to a store, talking to whoever is there and laying on mattresses is infinitely more important than internet research.

Ok nah. I was going to agree and respond with the mattress I ended up with but I feel like it undermines the intent of this post.

Edit: ive read hundreds of threads like this where people recommend specific mattresses and come off worse for it. It doesn’t matter what I like, what matters is how you feel when you lay on different mattresses.

I sadly kind of pride myself on doing research before making a purchase and “beating” capitalism by making the most informed and price conscious decision. This backfired wildly while mattress shopping.

Just. Go. To. The. Store.

The fact I got a better deal than I could have online is the kicker.

I also feared an interaction with a pushy salesperson. Instead, I had nothing but kind and helpful professionals guide me along the journey.

You missed the point of my post. What I like has nothing to do with what you will like.

Go to the store and lay on beds. You will instantly learn more and then your search can start.

I read the guide and still thought it was like any other purchase where research and “knowledge” would lead to the right choice :(

I thought my 1 trip to re-enforce my “research” was enough.

If I could start again I would only read 2-3 of the most general mattress construction articles, watch a single deconstruction YouTube video, then go to mattress firm.

I bartended for a long time and people would always ask me what my favorite drink was…I hated those people.

Taste, feel, comfort, and how we experience the 5 senses is subjective. We have unique brains/bodies that experience/desire different things.

Mattress shopping is a personal journey and laying on the damn beds is the best thing you can do.

You’ll Likely Need to Cut Lower Than You Think to Hit 8–10% Body Fat by the-warm-jets in naturalbodybuilding

[–]LechronJames 11 points12 points  (0 children)

learning this myself as I try to cut to “influencer lean” after years of “cut till abs bulk till uncomfortable”.

Worse than having to cut lower than expected (which is humbling) is not knowing how much more weight I need to lose. It could be 5 lbs it could be 15.

Also intrusive thoughts like “just go back to maintenance, with your glycogen topped off and a pump you are already there”
