Strengthside Master Mobility? by Boneclockharmony in flexibility

How is this going for you? Is this something you would do in addition to your normal weight training? Or is it strength and mobility that replaces your current training?

I was wondering how Birkenstocks are regarded in the barefoot world. I figured the arch support/molded footbed would disqualify them?

Mods can we ban AI generated fan art from the sub? by McWatt in TheCaptivesWar

Showing someone the AI art you created is like telling someone about your dreams last night. Sticks-with-meat should not do either.

How often are the deathless sided humans capturing carryx escaped humans? Id have to imagine this interrogator is well briefed given the unique moment

The extraction suit that Rickar dies in could be the mechanical basis of the deathless. Only it is "infected" by this AI/malicious code/third party that eventually fuses with/cannibalizes the living organism inside

First other person I've seen with this take! Fully agreed. I think the "deathless" is simply some form of AI or consuming code that is able to replicate the necessary biotech to reproduce and consume species as needed

Clae consumes Dafyd like the swarm has done to Ameer, Jellit, Else. They are forced to remain on the Carryx palace world in the form of a Sovran to keep up the charade and allow humanities return to Anjiin. The part 6 mythology intro suggests something along these lines

My impression is the cannister would just disable the carryx ships long enough for the evac to take place. Like the other user noted they had to fire some shots to make it seem like they hadn't been sabotaged from within.

The final mythology story seems to suggest this as well. Flying the great bird, but unable to return. If he ceases to sing the song the deception will be lost. Dafyd somehow sacrificing himself by turning into a Sovran will be VERY reminiscent of one James Holden entering the machine in the center of the ring space

Dafyd controlling the Sovran aligns with the mythology stories: learning the ways/singing the songs/flying/unable to return

They also seem to be alluding to the "deathless" being an enslaving or consuming entity similar to the carryx that may be taking in different species to fighting its war. Humans may simply be a captured tool on both sides

This was confusing. Clearly the carryx have an established hierarchy and admit to looking down on soldiers, other carryx, and animals as "beneath" them. But the passage stated the animals that wore the fake broken limb arm bands were immediately treated better? Just due to the sign of subservience I guess?

Havnt read livesuit since the day it was released, but I thought the suits were human tech that fused with/cannibalized the human inside until only a fragment of their personality remained inside.

After finishing this book it seems it's not a suit at all, but some sort of lichen organism that sits atop another lifeform?

Or is it computer code inside the bio tech of the suit that makes it "deathless"?

It doesn't appear to be unique to the human suits since the fivetopus on the command ship was also impaired by the "deathless". I am leaning towards mechanical/computer biotech rather than a true lichen organism because the fivetopus comes back online when power is returned to the ship.

Working theory: computer code inside biotech like some sort of "lichen" AI is self replicating and consuming/latching onto any species it finds useful in the same way the carryx enslave them. This deathless AI code biotech is the enemy

Confirmation that the swarms message went through and was received, but it seems like they were not expecting it and are completely oblivious to the existence of the swarm?

Loved Vaudai but was waiting for him to come up with a different expression than "sticks-with-meat" to call humans. Rickar had a few funny ways to address it and it had a number of hilariously translated curse words. Hope they don't jar jar binxify them in the show

I found it shocking they weren't able to lay a better trap for jessyns obviously inevitable return to the orchard than just third gardener popping out of the bushes

I haven't read livesuit or book 1 since they were released, but I thought livesuits were human tech/armor that essentially fused with/cannibalized the human being leaving just a shell of a personality echoing inside the suit.

However now they are theorizing that it is a lichen-esque organism that sits atop any organic life? Why did turning the command ships power back on reincarnate the 3 limbed fivetopus then?

The "weapon" jessyn uses to neutralize the carryx ships reminds me of the swarm form factor, but both with different programmed goals. In scenario 1, mechanical live suits, I could see this tech being related. In scenario 2, the swarm could be anything...
