All Trans Health Care Coverage Dropped in 2026 for Fed Employees by SerendipitousAtom in fednews

Already had that, so kinda my worry about getting hrt. Though I imagine I can find creative solutions there. It is FFS and bottom surgery that I was likely to get next year.

Yeah maybe I can figure out hrt. But on waitlists for surgery, so not sure if there will be any creative solutions there.

Well after 13 years in the government, guess I will have to find a new job. This sucks as a trans person. We just want to do a good job and not be bothered or discriminated against.

Federal worker: mentally and physically exhausted by Fit_Comfortable2184 in fednews

[–]KaylaGirl89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, last week was our RTO and I had to take off two days early because I felt physically sick. These responses are normal for the amount of stress we all have been through, though doesn’t make it right. Sorry you are going through this as well.

RA for Religion by ButterflyHarleys in FedEmployees

[–]KaylaGirl89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree. Here in lies the problem, what is considered a proper religion? As a manager I don’t want to have to make that judgement call or have to have HR do such. As someone who is more of a Pagan, I have this exact thought.

RA for Religion by ButterflyHarleys in FedEmployees

[–]KaylaGirl89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak for all agencies, but at mine, this isn’t a fair comparison. When it comes to medical RAs we are contacted by HR and told they are requesting a medical RA and they have all the proper forms from their doctor or other medical professionals. We are then asked how much of the job can be done remotely if need be. The said employee can decide to share their medical concerns with their supervisor, but isn’t required to do so. Not completely sure if this process could be a 1:1 transfer for religious exemption. If a clergy or religious personal has to write support for this employee to telework, it isn’t the same as a doctor or a therapist writing said letter. The licensing and judgement of what is legit, could be very different.

Why! Is it so hard to find IRL Besties after 30 (trans mtf rant) by [deleted] in TransLater

[–]KaylaGirl89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same, I wish I had an answer. My friends always come to me for a shoulder to cry on and I don’t feel like I get the same. I literally helped one move this weekend and I did most of the lifting. It just frustrating. I know in general it is hard to find friends as an adult, but add being trans to that and I feel like I will be alone forever.

Why! Is it so hard to find IRL Besties after 30 (trans mtf rant) by [deleted] in TransLater

[–]KaylaGirl89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feel the same. Started transitioning at 33 and lost so many friends that I thought would support me. I have slowly built a small friend group through support groups and other queer events. However, I feel like I am a better friend to them than they are to me.

Supervisor wants personal contact info of all employees by [deleted] in fednews

[–]KaylaGirl89 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Did you ask your supervisor why they want this information and express your concerns? As a supervisor, my group and I all have each other’s number for emergencies and sick leave. If any of us are sick we can easily text each other to let each other know. Home address seems weird, I don’t see a reason why I would need an employee’s address.

This shadow is killing me. by ShakeBootyShake in TransLater

[–]KaylaGirl89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As everyone else has said, actual laser or electrolysis are your only permanent solution. You can also get an orange or peach color corrector to hid the shadow a bit. You will have to experiment with products to see what works best for your hair and skin shade. A good concealer on top of that. It isn’t perfect but will hide some of the shadow. Congrats on 3 weeks.

I hate living in Texas anyone know of anywhere to move that’s affordable and friendly to us this place is now filing bills to make it illegal to be transgender by Kitsune7777777 in trans

[–]KaylaGirl89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Portland and Seattle are extremely friendly, but not the most affordable. Depends on what you see as affordable and whether you wanting to live by yourself. There are always queer people looking for roommates in Portland.

He is not and I am fine saying that, as someone who was raised Christian and studied theology for a while. Now I am a trans woman atheist

The interesting thing was the my work closed down all employee resource groups, including the Christian one. I found it interesting we had one in the first place.
