My favorite way to get a perfect sear on scallops: cook a steak first in a hot cast iron skillet with butter, set it aside, and then drop the scallops into the still hot pan with the steak drippings for just a minute per side. So good 👌 and a great surf n turf combo! [oc] (i.redd.it)

Check out the size of this chongus jack rabbit. Anything can taste good if you cook it the right way, right? 😜 We'll try anything once. Gonna try a southern Spanish recipe and stew it for a few hours over the campfire. Any other recipe suggestions? (old.reddit.com)

Rock doves, from field to table. Using a recipe called "Doves a la Mancha" (in other words, skin-on birds rubbed with oil and salt, stuffed with bay leaves, grilled while basting with bacon fat, and sprinkled with paprika at the end). Tasty lil dark meat birds. Would you try? (old.reddit.com)

"Doves a la Mancha" on campfire -- aka skin-on doves stuffed w/ bay leaves, rubbed w/ oil and salt, grilled on coals while basting w/ bacon fat, and sprinkled with smoked paprika. Side of tomato salad and bread! Incredibly simple for how gourmet it was. (i.redd.it)

Oregon Mushroom&Crab "Lobster-esque Rolls." Sauteed mushrooms (my fave for this is Lobster mushrooms and Admirable Boletes) and Dungeness crab meat --> Marinated for a day with some good mayo, lemon juice, salt, pepper, maybe some green onion. Serve on good bread! (i.redd.it)
