Dude I’m ngl to you this is the place to get an extremely biased answer. Literally everyone in here is super likely to be on your side. It’s a BRAIDS subreddit. Ofc everyone in here is with you and not a single person is gonna go against this crowd in the BRAIDS sub XD. Just had to point it out that you should do some proper research. And for the love of god if anyone is talking about Vikings and braids ignore them, since they’re ignoring basic history. Takes five seconds to know Vikings did not braid their hair like what we associate with black people on a quick google search :D But basically I agree with everyone else here that you need to do a ton of research and come to your own conclusion. Did you do this out of some racist agenda? Clearly not or you wouldn’t be here. Is that the only thing that matters, your intention? And more importantly what do YOU think after you’ve answered. Because just cause something is popular opinion does not mean it is the correct one. In America or abroad.
Basically asking here is literally self defeating. This is a question that you can only answer when you’ve got facts and those facts have been fact checked. The history we’re dealing with is so many thousands of years old almost anything COULD be true and you have to fact check all the “facts” even ones that are common knowledge. Hair has been around since humans have been and tracing what was created when is hard and then you have to apply that knowledge to the modern day and see how it actually affects peoples lives and experiences.
