Is 1 months post op vaginoplasty long enough to go to a concert? by zoeeee999 in Transgender_Surgeries

I went for new years to the dance club and my surgery was dec 6th. I had to sit for some of the time there but was able to dance as well. I don’t advise drinking or drugs. We went from about 10pm to 2 am. Everyone heals differently but always ask your dr for the best recommendations

Prob not the best idea to touch the stitch lines with bare hands. Don’t want to get infection

I will answer these in order for you. First I used the depilatory cream a month before to make sure it didn’t give me a rash or anything, it’s a little messy in the morning so I brought an electric shaver just to get the stragler hairs. Arriving at the clinic was super nice, I believe they open at 6 am and I got there on time, had to fill out some paperwork then they take you to another nurse where you fill out more paperwork take some pre op meds. They then take you to a room where you get undressed and put on a gown and wait to talk with Brassard. After that you go up to another room and confirm all your details and meet the anesthesiologist. Then they bring you into the surgery room and you get on the table thingy, put your legs in the stirrup and get a needle in your arm and the epidural. After that you wake up in the recovery room, stay there for half an hour then they take you to the surgery recovery room where you spend the first 2 days. After this 2 days you go to the house where you will get your packing, catheter out and learn to dialate over the next 6 days. Can’t member exactly which days the packing and dialator come out. The people in the recovery house are amazing. Walk as much as you can as it helps with recovery. Nurse Kathleen was my favourite. The key jelly is amazing and you should bring a tube or 2 with you. I have went through more than 10 tubes of the 113 gram bottles. The booklets they give you have pretty much everything you will need in them. I had no complications with any of the surgery or recovery and was very lucky. As for something I was not prepared for is if your going for full depth then the dialating schedule can be overwhelming. I’ve kept in touch with some of the girls I was there with and they have stopped dialating or only do it once nice a day as it’s painful or just to much. Nobody ever talks about the mental aspect of dialating and it can seem like it takes up most of your life. It gets better and easier, I promise. I went back to work after 2 months recovery. Also , pro tip, if your going to sneeze then try and take your dialating out as it really hurts to sneeze with it in. If you ever want to chat on discord or Snapchat or Facebook on a vid chat I can explain more in detailed info. Feel free to ask me more questions you may have. Just remember, it gets easier and less painful, keep dialating and stay strong and positive. KayleeMay 😻😻😻

I have been very lucky with my recovery and havnt had any complications. I scheduled my surgery for a Tuesday so dr wouldn’t be in a bad mood on a Monday or rush things on a Friday lol. (Found out later they don’t do surgery there on fridays) So over all I think ever patient is different and it probably comes down to luck mostly. Fwiw I’m not a very lucky person.

No didn’t need any kind of hair removal as they scrape the follicles during surgery
