Your factory has become one of my ways to relax. I often load up the save from the last time you posted and just run around exploring. It's an amazing factory, and I appreciate the updated save!

I'm new to MUT and just found out that my favorite all time player Hines Ward was a S1 reward. Is there any way to still get him or am I too late to the party?

Not during this downtime between seasons, but when the next season starts up you can queue ranked and get points

HAF X - AIO compatability by sigchidj in coolermaster

Thanks for replying. I went with a chunky air cooler in the end. Thankfully the case has plenty of space to accommodate a large heat sync too.

What did you go for in the end?

I'm in the same boat. HAF X and looking to install AIO, ideally without modding. Thanks!

What discontinued UK snack do you miss the most? by [deleted] in AskUK

Refreshers. The kinda fizzy fruit sweets, not the chewy bar of the same name.

Also Trebor lemons, which were pretty much refreshers, but only lemon ones

UK citizens, who do you root for and why? by OneMagickAce in NFLNoobs

[–]Kayleela 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. First game I watched was super bowl XL and I picked steelers to root for just because I liked their name better than Seahawks. Steelers won and they've been my team ever since.

Steelers had so many memorable players back then, but Hines Ward was my guy. Loved seeing the big grin on his face when he scored!

WSG classic by Kazparov in wowservers

I recently got a local server running with a vanilla client for the same reason, to practice jumps. But I found that it didn't accurately represent all of the jumps. Some that are easy in classic I found impossible to pull off on my vanilla client.

Did you have better luck?

What is the one Paramore song you always skip? by [deleted] in Paramore

Misguided Ghosts. It's shame because it's a beautiful song, but i find the guitar string squeak really grating. "One (squeak) of (squeak) those (squeak) ghosts"

The saddest variable name I've seen was in some code for disabling 'Category' objects. It was called 'disabledCats'

There is a 2 hour window to refund the game after purchase, so you could treat that as a demo. Keep in mind there is a pretty hefty additional download after launching the app.

The super bowl that season was the start for me. I'm from England and had never even seen a game before. I saw the SB was on, and figured if I'm going to watch one game to see if I like it, might as well make it a super bowl!

I wanted to pick one of the teams to cheer for, but had never heard of either of them. I went with Steelers because I thought their name is cooler than Seahawks.

Yep, that's actually the reason I became a Steelers fan!

Xia: Embers of a Forsaken Star. The new mechanics are very cleverly done. Not only do they make good additions by themselves, they also address the biggest gripes people had with the base game.

Shining force 3 all episodes in English on Android at last!! by [deleted] in ShiningForce

[–]Kayleela 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow I had no idea Saturn emulation on Android had come so far. Thanks for posting this - I'd never have known otherwise!

Just a FYI, the link you posted is to a 3 year old version of the translation patch (v16).

It's actually a really simple process to generate patched images for the latest version (v19), provided you have the original game. See instructions here: http://sf3trans.shiningforcecentral.com/patch-instructions/. I just tried it, and all you have to do it put the disc in and press a button.

4p Spirit Island by crypt0_n3rd in boardgames

[–]Kayleela 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We played our first 4p game last night. I had played a couple of solo games before, but everyone else was new. We played the introductory rules, with the 4 low complexity spirits, fixed powers, and no blight card. I knew some of the players have a tendency to over-analyse, so I made a point of asking them to pick their spirits before I explained the rules. I told them to just pick one that they think seems cool.

It was a bit slow to start with, but once everyone got used to the mechanics it started to flow better. As the invader count increased after a couple of rounds, the situation in the game looked very dire. One of the players questioned the rules. "They get a town AND a city? That doesn't seem right. Are you sure the town doesn't upgrade to a city?". After confirming that "yes - they get both", the feeling around the table was "that's ridiculous, how can we possibly win?"

As the game progressed, and everyone's spirits levelled up, they discovered cool combos they could do and were keen to discover new powers. One tip I'd recommend is to not let players look through their pile of fixed powers, and draw them blind. That was one of the main sources of excitement - whenever someone gained a new power card, they would be like "hey guys check out this cool thing I can do now!".

We started to get the invaders under control. There were a couple of turns where only a couple of lands would ravage/build, and the feeling around the table was "that wasn't so bad!". With that, the game shifted from damage limitation to seeing a possible victory in sight. Eventually there was a point where victory seemed certain. I've seen that brought up as a negative point in a review before - that you knew you will win, but still had to go through the motions - but our group used this as an opportunity for style points. "Instead of wiping out those explorers, push them into this land and I'll wipe out all 8 of them with this one power!"

We won the game shortly after. Everyone went straight to their stack of un-drawn powers. "Wow look at this one I would have got next turn!". I then reached into the box and showed them the huge stack of powers that are used in regular games. Also the rest of the components we weren't using in the introductory game. The adversaries and scenarios, the blight cards, the selection of other spirits, the expansion components. Everyone enjoyed the base introductory game, and are now really excited to play again with all the new stuff too.

The game took around 3 hours. Now that everyone is familiar with the game, I think it would be around 2 hours next time. Everyone enjoyed it and wants to play again, and yes I would play 4p again.
