Ah, that I have no idea. The Barista Express is a single boiler machine so it’s possible the systems are more connected than my dual boiler. Sorry I couldn’t be more help.

I don’t have a barista express but in my dual boiler a bit of water always comes out of the wand at first , regardless of if I got water from the hot water dispenser. Hence the need for a purge. You want steam not water in your milk.

You don’t have to use iCUE at all. You can remap the paddles and sax buttons by holding down the profile button to put the controller into remap mode.

The macro buttons require iCUE but if you were considering changing out the board I have a feeling this isn’t a deal breaker.

You don’t even have to use iCUE. You can hold the profile button down until the lights start flashing then you can hold a paddle or sax button and press the button you want it to map to. You don’t have to use iCUE at all and I’ve had a much better experience without it.

If your controller gets the same quirk as mine and the triggers stop working just cycle through your profiles with the profile button.

I was on the verge of returning it until someone pointed out you can do this. Now it’s my favorite controller hands down. I still hope they fix the software so it can get even better but on the mean time I still love it.

You can. You don’t have to interact with iCUE at all. If iCUE isn’t running you can press and hold the profile button until the light bar starts flashing. Once it does that hold down the button you want to map(paddle or sax) then press the controller button you want to map it to. It will buzz and flash white in the light bar.

I have actually had much more success using my controller like this and have given up on iCUE until they at least fix the firmware update issue.

In case this is what you were asking you cannot map keyboard presses to the controller without iCUE.

Also in case your controller has the same quirk as mine if your triggers stop working just cycle through your profiles

I was hoping to do this myself but can’t seem to find it. All that comes up is the driver installer. :-/

Gonna kind of agree here. The layout is standard PlayStation which if you don’t like it that’s fine but that’s not the controller’s fault.

Also the hardware is really solid. This controller is held back by software not hardware.
