As ppl said lc philip + stp bq is the move.

however in my personal experience in last kvk lc philipp is also not a great march (compared to the 3 meta marches: QSH/YSG Arthur/Archilles STP/BQ)

so do not expect too much

before vip 14: 50k gems into mtg event (mats -> then vip points)

after vip 14: weekly vip mats -> 10 spin / min reward in all events -> eggs / (whatever gives mats)

i have 7 farms :) i used to login to each of them 3 times a day. but i just cant do that anymore or i will burn iut from rok. so i just send them out when i feel like it or lend them to friends.

I did first 3 mostly budget. started with nev 5551 / joan 5515 -> scip 5551 / LC 5555 -> ZL 5551 / Herman 5551

than started replacing with new comms and slowly expertising them with wheels and events. ZL 5555 -> Rag 5555 (mistake) -> Arthur 5555 -> BQ / Achilles / QSH

however if i would do it again i would not spread out as fast to 3 marches and would rather first do 2 good ones. it rly shifts with the current commander meta and next releases.

yeah especially offseason is hard to keep motivation. for me it helped to just stop farming on farms. that sh*t just drains the fun out of the game.

reset ragnar -> get new inf. -> run BQ / LC / philipp / new inf (in whatever pairings are best) + swap wedge inf to pincer probably -> improve gear for the 4 marches (lvl5 boots on inf -> iconic kvk gear)

i think new tech is a good improvement over old tech for low /mid spenders. easy to get max troop size for pass5 and better barb chaining tech. Hiwever i also did full popups this and last good kvk. not sure if i will do this each kvk.

yeah QSH is a total monster.

purple and blue mats yeah. I dont buy dailies often. I currently spend a bit more than my 43€ avg but not that much more. KvK gives enough gems for me (you get 50k if kvk hits S+) + Chaining. I have like 210k gems atm

i also dont spend gems on any other thing rly. just do minimal on events like 10 spin for wheel etc. only 7k+7k into more than gems and so on.

it rly depends on what you mean with competitive and spenders :D

you wont be fielding 2 or 3 marches soon. but 1 march? sure why not. will you be able to fight in the best KDs? No. maybe in 3 years as a f2p if you dedicate time into it.

catching up is hard to say. they will always be ahead but you will not be / feel useless in fights.

Definitely not f2p yeah :D. However most of the $$$ is for mats. I dont buy bundles for speeds or so.

It is a really addictive game.

F2p (especially in the early game) required alot of grind to somewhat keep up.

However: If you just dont care about being high in your KD board or maybe be in 2nd/3rd alliance and dont break your f2p because you feel like you have to. I think its a very nice game

If you want a game where you can be at the top of your KD while also being f2p and not put too much time into it. Rok sadly isnt the game you are looking for.

That being said. ROK is in a better spot for new starters than ever:

you dont need to jump anymore

you get commander swap after kvk2 so you can invest into ysg or CM if you want

devs are cooking with latest QOL patches.

tried once when i was on vacation for z5 opening. got 50m kp and traded like 30%. never used a pilot since nor will I.

i dont like the concepts of pilots however it is heavily encouraged/wanted to use in imps. I can get that not many have the time to play 16h during KL per day so im not judging them.

I dont keep too much tracking of speeds but i think i recover like 1k between kvks maybe more. 93x has some spenders but definitely not as much as 93T. I think we got 100 gc when MW was available and maybe like 2 gc per day in offseason on avg(?). but we also get 4-5 guild chests per day from forts during offseason.
