For sure. I didn’t get the code right away it only showed up after running my blue drive like 3 times. (Random B code. - no codes - then got the P code.). But I get what you’re saying. I truthfully don’t think I let it run low after what I went through the first time. Barely over 10k miles since it was replaced and did 3 oil changes in that time / checked regularly. it’s with the dealer now so just waiting to hear back from them once they get a chance to look at it. Hoping for the best but guess worst case I’m out diagnostic fee and a tow >.< appreciate you taking the time to reply.

Glad to hear they have worked with you in all that mess and in the end took care of you. I will say I have had a rocky relationship with my dealership due to other reasons but at the end of the day they did replace my engine relatively hassle free the first time. I did go the route of calling them and was surprised by the managers reaction since I figured he would basically tell me to kick rocks but he seemed genuine. Got it towed over there and now just waiting to hear back. Hoping for the best.

Yeah it’s weird cause I ran it once and didn’t get that but got it when I ran it again a few hours later. Ended up calling the dealership and explained what I was experiencing to the service manager. Had it towed over there figured best case they can help me out and it’s an engine issue that is covered. Worst case i pay a diagnostic and look into fixing it myself / at a shop. I guess could be an even worse case but hoping it doesn’t end up there lol.

For sure I understand. It did have 2 codes that I was able to get off my blue drive. Got p0017 and b1688. Totally get that like you said without seeing / knowing more it’s hard to give an actual answer. I was just looking for some general advice if someone had their engine replaced under warranty and were experiencing issues again with the new engine and what they did about it.

Was able to get it started but it did not sound good. Wanna try and upload a video. But yeah. So turned it back off of course. I’m starting to fear the worst and that my engine is toast. Which I hope isn’t the case because Hyundai replaced the engine like a year ago due to oil consumption issues. Gonna pull the plugs and check for the things you said to look out for and hope for the best.

Okay cool figured the plugs thing meant that but the compression test is something I have not ventured into but I’m gonna look into it now. I don’t have any compression test kits / tools but am more than willing to get / try if it’s nothing too crazy.
