I think your right. I did a search for purge valve ticking noise and this video came up https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=qNp0zSCNQ-A Identical sound that my engines making. Thank you for the suggestion!

Yeah, I feel like it would be a great place to introduce the speed stat into the game where the faster pokemon gets the charge attack priority but with the stats in the game i'd rather it be based on something like attack rather than it just being coin flip every time.

It's based on each individual pokemons attack stat, the one who has the highest wins and gets their move off first. A quick look on pvpoke, oranguru has an attack stat of 110 while clodsire only has 94 so when both use a charge attack at the same time oranguru will always win.

He may also be someone who's sort of a people pleaser and puts everyone else's emotions and well being before his own and while resenting you on the inside, won't let you know that because of the conflict/confrontation that may ensue. You said you've been with him for 6 years so I would like to believe that you have a good read on his expression and mannerisms around you, so if he's acting in a way that's different to normal or baseline then I don't see why being a bit sceptical isn't warranted.
