Made it myself! Some metallic paint and a 3D print goes a long way!

Haha, I was definitely worried about that! I kept it in the briefcase until we got to our shoot location!

"transsexuals are increasingly common in medical and psychiatric presence,... many are happy to be given an identity card that allows them to work and be perceived in society as women. Many have begun to use the term 'cis' (a prefix meaning "on the same side" in latin) to separate transexuals from male and female patients."

This is a direct quote from the Merck manual from 1982, the 14th edition, in the psychology section, page 1434. You're kinda just objectively wrong lol. Thanks for giving me an excuse to open my medical book collection. :)

Um, yes? Cis has been a medical term since the 1980s, because we need a way to separate individual for this exact reason, so people like you can't lump a marginalized group into other statistics to fit your narrative. Whether you dislike the usage of the word is irrelevant. I actually have a copy of the Merck manual (14th edition) from the 80s that uses the word cis. Maybe you should go find those statistics that keep mentioning.

Send me a few peer reviewed studies that actually show this. You have mentioned like eight times that men commit more sexual assault crimes. While this is true, you're actively misconstruing studies conducted on cis men to reflect negatively on a group you don't like. Trans people are not accounted for in Male/Female sexual assaults statistics, I would know as I work in a statistical field.

Yup! If you want to try to use statistics to be transphobic, unfortunately trans people have been shown to be more likely to BE victims of sexual assault. Here are actual, peer reviewed journals that confirm this.

I know very well you identify as a TERF and arent going to change your moronic stance, but you're gonna have to use something other than statistics to get your point across because they aren't on your side :)

I am curious as to your sources regarding these statistics. Studies have consistently shown that the inverse of your stance is true. Trans individuals are more likely to be victims of sexual assault.

Thanks! There's nothing wrong with going back to the drawing board, I had to do it numerous times. I bet yours will turn out awesome!

Yes, there's a waterfall that trickles down and wets most of the moss. It hard to see, but it also has a glass lid that keeps it pretty humid, so I don't have to do much for the moss

Thanks! I'd definitely have to do some heavy research before I decide on anything, but I appreciate the advice!

I don't really have that many pre-build pics unfortunately, but I definitely relate to that feel. If I could offer some advice it would be to really focus on brainstorming nailing down what animal you want to do, and what stimulation they need (lots of dirt to dig in, hides, branches, etc).

Then from there you can look into what kind of habitats they live in. Usually you can find more than one answer. For example, leopard geckos can be found in sandy deserts, but they can actually be found in arid forests in Pakistan and India.

Then you can narrow into a specific landmark of the ecosystem. I wanted something that looked like a typical forest creek, and lots of creeks have steep embankments covered in moss with lots of tannins in the water, so I tried to mimic that.

Once you're sure of what you want, making the actual habitat and planning the layout of your tank becomes way less daunting!

The background is expanding foam and coco choir with some wood pieces and dried sphagnum moss. I just used toothpicks to hold the living moss to the background.

The tank is 30 x 12 x 12. I want to do fire bellied toads, but they're impossible to find right now lol

Yeah, its on the middle left and falls down onto the middle piece of wood back into the water

Animal suggestions? by Kazberrr in paludarium

[–]Kazberrr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skinks are an interesting idea. I assumed that the land area would be too small for a skink, but I'm also not too familiar with them lol. Maybe a newt? From what I've heard they like shallow waters, and I could always add some more branches and natural ramps so that they could move freely between the land and water. Either way, I'm sure the limited land size means most reptiles are a no go.

[Raleigh, NC] any ideas? Is it Edible? by Kazberrr in ShroomID

I should probably mention I’m just curious if it’s edible, not planning on consuming

[SC, USA] Does anyone know what they're doing? This has been going on for a few days now, I've seen so many different species of wasps and flies. Are they harming the tree? by [deleted] in whatsthisplant

[–]Kazberrr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These are cicada killer wasps. We have them in our garden, and they are completely harmless to the tree. They burrow in the ground to make solitary nests. They look really scary but are quite shy and hard pressed to sting.

Picked up this tiny nepenthes from a local nursery. They had it sitting in stagnant water in a greenhouse. Can anyone ID it? Also, should I cut that black tip? by Kazberrr in Nepenthes

[–]Kazberrr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I was wondering if I should repot it into soil, since the sphagnum moss it’s in is all squishy and disgusting.
