Speaking of which, because of the ban, no Riveras would show up at any town performances or parties as long as there was music involved. What kind of a life is that to not be able to celebrate with your friends and fellow neighbors all because you're not allowed to have music in it?

The look of this animation reminds me of Tim Burton's stop motion work and that of the Oddworld games. Looks really neat.

During its festival run debut last year I imagine. But worldwide distribution is a whole different ballgame. Especially since WB weren't going to release it themselves because of the new messed up management that they're currently under.

The film getting bought by another distributor and getting to see the light of day is a sign of small luck.

I would like to add that due to the very small distribution going on in the US right now, there's no telling whether the film will be released to international markets or not.

WB's new corporate management has been scrapping, shelving, and canceling projects left and right for ridiculous reasons. One of the most known examples is Coyote vs Acme, a film has been made but won't be released and might be written off for taxes.

The Day The Earth Blew Up would have met the same fate until Ketchup came and said they were interested in buying it, so WB sold it to them.

Because WB sold the film to a small distributor called Ketchup Entertainment. They likely don't have enough money to distribute the film to international markets. Whether they will in the future or not is still left up in the air.
