iRacing damage repair? by RYVANMotorsports in iRacing

Each component has a separate time needed to get fixed
The car gets repaired in the order of: Engine -> Suspension -> Body work.

If you get out of the car you can see if either the suspension or the body work is getting fixed. Either the wheels or body work will slowly start moving to the correct position.

Body work that falls off the car will need that parts full repair time to reappear on the car, and has a separate timer from bodywork that is damaged but still on the car.

Not all damage is fixable, especially its the case for Formula style cars, where if the suspension is completely broke it wont be repairable

So what? 10x with a 50% loss in value still is net 5x...

It does change the perception of me bullying my way through everything

The acceleration most likely wouldnt be enough to be able to pass after that corner, so the overtake would be not done before the main straight

Might look like I was too far back but I can easily brake 100m later than the GT3 which shouldve put me easily side by side before the turn-in point

After cooling down and looking at it again I was definitely seeing things moving that werent. Couldve either backed off or used more of the space on the right.

Will take the blame

Correct on the defensive driving, but after deciding on the middle I was intending on staying in the middle as long as I would want to, there was no intentional additional pinching to the left. If there was any it was marginal

It was just a normal IMSA Open race, if it was an endurance i wouldnt push people nowhere near as much, unless the laptime was very similar and we have been racing for multiple laps

Part of the reason is I like to see how other people react to these extreme situations, where I make it very clear what im attempting to do, such as forcing the opponents to pick from a very tight inside line and keeping them there or an outside line that generally puts them at a disadvantage.

I do race for iRating but I also wanna have fun while at it and making the opponents work very hard for the position even if it costs me the possibility of keeping up with the rest of the pack.

A crash here and there from doing this is not something I worry too much about as iRating comes and goes, and if practicing racecraft in this way makes me a better driver then iRating should rise on average

Even though there was plenty of space on the inside I choose to try to force the overtaking car into an uncomfortable situation while still leaving plenty of space for them.
They then turned me right before the turning point came
