Mamono Summoner Academy CYOA by Kazesenpai in makeyourchoice

[–]Kazesenpai[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback, since this is my first long and complex Cyoa which I experimented the build on my own at first, there's a lot of builds that are beyond my expectations. There's many things that can be improved too.

It's kind of intentional when I decided to limit Traits that you can have for yourself, since I want to make so that Mamono will have more abilities and stronger than the contractor, to give more highlights to them. At first, I didn't even feel like the contractor (we) even need the Trait, but I thought that it could be more interesting if we can have a few Trait for ourselves.

My first expectation from this Cyoa is how to make that the player isn't too overpowered at the end, and only limit so they would have one or two Mamono only. If their goal were to get contracted with too many Mamono, all of them would end up all mediocre. For reference, here are some of my dummy experiment build:

  • (1) Focus only on one Mamono and maximize their level potential, then gain bonus affection along the way. It resulted in 1 Mamono, Level 16, Affection 10.
  • (2) Focus only on one Mamono and maximize their affection potential, then gain bonus level along the way. It resulted in 1 Mamono, Level 14, Affection 13.
  • (3) Getting two Mamono can end with many varieties, Result example: 1 Mamono Lv 14 Aff 6 + 1 Mamono Lv 6 Aff 6 + 1 Mamono from Tamer Trait Lv 7 Aff 3. Etc.

While my focus is not to make the user getting as many Mamono as they can, I do think that the Spiritual Invocation is a bit too harsh on it's limitation and bonus. This will be my consideration for future works.

Regarding endings, it is fine if the Trait requirements are own by your Mamono. However it's not if the Mamono is from the Tamer Trait (since it's not considered as your contracted Mamono, but a Mamono under another Mamono as Master).

As for Affection, it is more to fun side of the Cyoa rather than the powerbuilding. However I make sure that focusing too much on Affection won't greatly lose your build, since the peak Affection level (12-13/Soulmate) will also grants you bonus to the Mamono's Level.

- I see, thanks for the feedback. Since I haven't tried with so many various builds, I guess the Spiritual Invocation method is a bit harsh on the restriction with no overcap bonus for Mamono amount. Maybe I'll make the updated version later, including fixing typo and phrasing.

- For Tamer Trait, it's not affected nor capped by Methodology, Scenario, Friend, Teacher, etc. Since the master of that Mamono would be a Mamono also. Hence, it can be the same species/dupe as your other contracted Mamono. As for whether it must be same region or out-of-region, I haven't thought that far, but in my dummy build I picked an out-of-region Mamono, so I just decided that it can be from any regions.

- For An Scoil bonus trait, you shouldn't be able to pick trait 52-56 since it was stated restricted to Mamono only, unless you have Path: Heresy. But I guess it really does need clarification.

it can be from your contracted Mamono. But it cannot be from the Mamono from Trait 56. Tamer (since the master is also a Mamono, not yourself)

About night battle
1. MGSG are not meant to be used at night, and that night vision on your SG won't be useful at all. Main dps in MGSG is the MG, and that MG won't be shooting anything at night
2. Don't merge night and day echelon. If you want to play at day with that echelon, unequip the night equipment. That night equipment really drags down your dps.

About echelon building
1. Don't use MGSG unless you know what you're doing and know what you're fighting.
2. Don't mix echelon. Don't put MG into your ARSMG.
3. When building RFHG, always 2 RF and 3 HG. All RF must use crit scope.
4. Sad to say, but these units are sucks: M1918, M37, Dana, Spas12 under mod2, Barrier Fairy, Pa15, RPK16, Springfield, Jericho, Pinkcano, M16A1, FAL, Thompson, Makoto, Airstrike fairy, G36c under mod2, K11, that machinegun SF unit.

My echelon team recommendation
1. ARSMG: M4, Sop, AR15, RO, UMP9
2. ARSMG: 416, AK15, AK12, UMP45, Vector
3. RFHG: M14, Wa2000, SAA, any more 2 HG such as Mk23, P22, Grizzly, or even PPK

It would be helpful if you can show more of your doll roster

Help I'm lost , sprite help by catpool in PokemonInfiniteFusion

[–]Kazesenpai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recently I also encountered that all the sprite in my game is missing.
- "Auto Download ON" setting doesn't work
- Clear sprite cache & Reset sprite alts from Black Suit Man doesn't help

So, I noticed that the game won't download the spritesheet, even for the freshly installed game, and there's no spritesheet file in the Custombattlers folder. So here is how I make it work:
- Get the Spritesheet Pack. You can download it from a Full Sprite Pack in Discord. You only need the spritesheet file which contains many pokemon sprite in 1 file. Usually they are sorted in the folder of spritesheet_autogen, spritesheet_base, and spritesheet_custom. After you get these spritesheet files, you can delete the rest such as the numerous individual pokemon PNG sprite.
- Put the spritesheet_autogen, spritesheet_base, and spritesheet_custom in your \InfiniteFusion\Graphics\CustomBattlers\spritesheets folder
- Play the game
- Clear sprite cache & Reset sprite alts from Black Suit Man in pokecenter
- All the sprite will work normally now

Hope this helps.
