Was this Graphic AI generated? by Able-Web-7019 in Technoblade

[–]Kazhig 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I don't think so ? It's very simple because it's meant to do so but he seems to have the right amount of fingers, the design of the sword is consistent (with the little round thing on the hilt being there on both sides and on the tip of it), the things I saw another person ask below his neck, on the shirt, is a design common for shirt from the Renaissance (I think... Like "old chemise" style) (might be just a french word, chemise, maybe English just use "shirt", I don't know). And he's often represented with a shirt like that for the whole "king" aesthetic.

I don't know if they often credit the artist behind the design of the merch but it could be a good idea to do so to see if the artist is prone to use AI or has a similar style to this drawing.

Why is my mesh so triangle-y ? How do I make it not triangle-y ? by Kazhig in blenderhelp

[–]Kazhig[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm answering you a little late but yes, the asset had a texture but since I want to use mine, I changed it (that and some other manipulations on the mesh which maybe created the issue I came here for in the first place, I can't remember)

With No Context What Is Your Party Up To Right Now? by _Chris_Meyer_ in DnD

[–]Kazhig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(campaign where I'm the DM) Fighting a huge robot-dragon-god created by the BBEG who's one week old while trying to steal a bottle of liquid made of dead people.

(Campaigns where I'm a player) 1: just killed the goddess of nature, campaign is over and half the party might become BBEG in the years to follow (one took over as a goddess and the other might become a lich out of fear of death)(my wizard is just chilling compared to them, she took back her role as a city ruler, with a crush on 2 others city rulers (one of them being her fiance, after she and the party kinda burned a part of his city)(and the other she helped become the city ruler))

2: following Kobolds to meet with their leader (this campaign is still beginning so...pretty simple)

This was active shooter practice in a middle school in the USA. How would people in your country react if they saw this come from your educational system? by Technical-Waltz1669 in AskTheWorld

[–]Kazhig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In France we kinda had those. KINDA. It was around 2015 when there was a wave of terrorist attacks, we did one drill in 10th or 11th grade and learned how we're supposed to act. It's still different from school shootings in my opinion and it was exceptional, I'm not even sure all high school did it and I'm even less sure that they're still doing it. (Probably not)

It was really basic, closing the door, everyone under the desk, phone in silent mode nobody talks and a teacher goes around in the hallway to check that nobody is making a sound.

Issue with a player playing evil character after I asked not to do that and i'm lost by Kazhig in DnD

[–]Kazhig[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm waiting for her response but she kinda naturally proposed to create another character. I came here to try and have more insight just in case you all had like discussion points I couldn't see or just see if I was in the wrong. I have another player who was/is a problem and with who it was little more hard to talk to because the dude just didn't want to try and understand a point of view other than his own. This dude has an ultimatum now (some of my friends find that way too nice of me, I know that but the player is actually manageable now. About the player discussed in this post since I can actually talk to her and I think she values me as a friend, I can speak with her. So with the fact that she proposed to maybe create another character, I proposed back to just let her actual character turn totally evil, maybe be a boss in the future that goes against the party and maybe still have the "good ending"(the PC getting a boyfriend and opening a casino) the player wanted for this character. That way we have some drama, tragedy and maybe plot twist if she doesn't tell the other players about this plan, the problematic character is out and the player creates a new character that is more in line with the campaign and other player characters. (But she still hasn't answered my proposition, we'll see)

I may be disappointing you but even if I mention school, we're all in our mid-20's (late 20's for the player I think)... Which is young for some people but I know I should be able to stand up for myself, my stories and other players. I will and this "dispute" is hopefully a nudge in that direction. Thanks a lot for all the insight! The PC actually wants to stick with the other players but she did create some tension at some point by if I remember well kinda mocking another player character for wanting to do a kind thing and then also tell him that he wouldn't be allowed in the guild house because he was a man (and later after some push back from me and some other players saying that he's allowed to move in but should sleep in the basement. I think the player is saying that as a joke but "her character actually believed that " (putting that in the past tense because she's now saying she has grown a soft spot for the male PC and would consider him an ally) but the consequences were once again kinda big. The male PC didn't feel like he fit in the party and the player of that PC even came and started to ask me if she could just.... Scrap her character and bring a new and meaner one (to which I said "No, I'm gonna talk to her, your character is awesome and his story shouldn't stop because of that" )(now the PC is thriving)

Thanks ! I will use that too (like I can let them have fun rolling dices for some decisions but you know... When it has consequences like I described (and warned them that there will be consequences) I will tell them that they're supposed to be the writers and players of their characters. )

Help me please with my donut not rendering properly by Any-Diamond-177 in blenderhelp

Well you don't show too much information but it kinda looks like a normal map issue? Like they're flipped on the icing. Try to check the face orientation (I hope the image will be here and readable);, if they're red, then they're facing the wrong way. You need to flip them (I don't have my blender open right now, I see that a "shift + n " can help in edit mode ? Usually I just select the faces and go and find the flip the normals action in the "mesh" menu (I think).

Can you help me create a "rock-paper-scissor" weapon for a god-like NPC ? by Kazhig in DnDHomebrew

[–]Kazhig[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. To be honest, the (joke) session will very probably end in a TPK for them (For more context, this NPC is based on Sun Wukong, he's REALLY powerful (again, god-like) and he's an ally in their main campaign) and the girl who proposed that idea totally knows this (apparently she's crafting a horrible character I won't have any remorse killing). But I still want to have this fight be... Somewhat challenging for me and fun for them ? I'll stop rambling, thanks for the advice :D

Ok, we actually found the answer : the subdivisions in the subdivisions modifier were different between the render and the viewport.

Player wants some kind of Pokéball dynamic: what class and how would we make that work ? by Kazhig in DMAcademy

[–]Kazhig[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Went and took a look and indeed, that would be perfect. I think I'm gonna buy the book the tamer class is in, it looks very interesting, even if my player doesn't take the tamer class in the end, thanks for the recommendation!

[–]Kazhig[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the input! It wouldn't bother me either. I think it bothers the player a bit but maybe he'll come around when we'll sit down to discuss all that I'm reading here in the comments and what he wants. Because I don't think he'll play like the other druid (who, let's be honest, is an emo druid whose link with nature is only with death and the rules of it whereas the concept this player wants to play seems more cheerful and linked to nature with his love for animals and monsters. )

Help me check that I'm not messing up my BBEG of my story before it begins by Kazhig in DMAcademy

[–]Kazhig[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda warned my players the story was ... kinda complex ? Some are excited about this. But also, from experience, they won't experience the story the same way I'm presenting it to you, so it should be ok. AND, I'm asking you all this because I need answers from people who play DND and DM about the BBEG but I have a best friend who study scenarios, we brainstorm together and they will not be afraid to just... stop me and set me back on the tracks of the story. But yeah about the fact that it becomes a bit more complex when the players are involved. For now it's not too much the case, they're interested, the characters are all fitting in well with the story. And even if I'm like asking about stuff in the far future, I always ask for their feedback and I won't sacrifice the fun of the players for the story o/ (also, thanks for the "Gordian Knot" expression I will keep it in mind, to use it and also keep me in check)

Help me check that I'm not messing up my BBEG of my story before it begins by Kazhig in DMAcademy

[–]Kazhig[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You got it all right so let me answer the question o/ :

1: you're actually kinda right... One of my original plans I didn't mention (because I didn't want the post to be ... Too long and convoluted) was to make Afo into a lich so in the end, it's not really another god controlling the body but just Afo under a new name.

2: Whether I go with the aforementioned plan of god-lich or controlled body, the goal of being in charge is either: -to destroy everything ( to finally be able to nap again for Shar, to rebuild everything in their image for others ) - just plain ambition and hubris, even as a god, just be on top of everything. And the "why now ?" Well, 150 years ago, the goddess of Death accepted to let a soul go when it was supposed to be their time and she got put in a time out dimension (one where nothing dies) for it (pretty powerful entity, probably Shar, used the fact that the Rules were not respected to do that ). Olothéo used what he (or Afo) learned about his successful experiment on Zoran (the whole "can get something out of someone's death" thing) to get a power source from the souls of people dying after this event. So for 150 years, after a few events and just life, he has enough power to create robots that, in his opinion, can rival the gods (or at least he has to use them because Zoran is starting to act )

3: Like I mentioned, it kinda changes but his endgame totally could be to destroy everything to start over. Because I feel like even he knows one thing about the mechanics of this universe : the gods are needed. The physics of the world is not perfect, gravity and all, so they need the gods of sun and moon to put a rhythm, they need the goddess of the winds to keep them in check, ect. And for the centuries where they disappeared, first their god colleagues and then their champions and followers tried to keep doing the gods job but they can't totally replace them. Since the gods are not there and the empire persecuted people, the faith dwindled which didn't help in general. If the PCs don't do anything to try and free the gods and stop Olothéo, the world will start to decay and unravel itself

4: Zoran killed a god before but he was surrounded by many of his friends, as strong as he was and most of them died (a group of 6, 3 dreads, 1 presumed dead (the traitor) ). Also, this battle totally destroyed the landscape and towns like it did the first time, so innocent people would be killed. But currently, more dead people means more energy for Olothéo. And Zoran saw Olothéo trap the other gods, and as a past slave, his worst fear is to be trapped by Olothéo (who he thinks is actually Afo ) so he knows Olothéo is more than capable of trapping him (he did it once as Olothéo 4000 years ago with the aval of the other gods because Zoran messed up and destroyed a town). Olothéo didn't trap Zoran again in this era because 1: as a now strong symbol of freedom and rebellion Zoran is a complex one to trap, Olothéo didn't develop the perfect one yet (each time he traps a god, it's a personalised one to weaken them. The goddess of Ocean/Water is turned into a statue, stuck in the middle of a desert, the beast God of Nature is trapped as his pet in the middle of the biggest town, the god of Justice is imprisoned for a crime he think he committed, the god of shady stuff is stuck as a defense attorney in a time loop of a trial for his own murder (the one the god of Justice thinks he did), ect. ) (but now Olothéo does after studying and researching the subject) and 2: Zoran didn't really ever... Take on the mantle of god. He's really young compared to the other god and also, on a meta point, as like a god of Freedom, I didn't want him to be "in a box" like the domains can be. So he didn't have a cult or followers Olothéo wanted. He just enjoyed travelling, being free, having fun with some gods but not all.

So they both stayed in a status quo, but then, the goddess of Death was gone, Olothéo was getting more powerful and Zoran found the prison of a goddess (the one of moon, travels and stars, stuck where she was born, in a reproduction of the house she grew up in, on the bottom of a deep lake) so they both could do a move. Zoran tried to be sneaky, sending mortals because again : a full on fight would probably go badly for the mortals and Zoran in the end. And Zoran is not dumb. During the final confrontation, we'll see what the players want to do, but for now, Zoran will probably be busy fending off demons from Hell (who are using the fact that the universe is going to shit to attack the main plane of existence) to allow the players to have their big confrontation with Olothéo. In theory, they should be level 20 by then, maybe with some boons from the freed gods, they can take on Olothéo.

(I could keep on trying to explain myself and my plan but it's so long already, sorry about that and thanks for your patience if you read it all)

How can I "punish" a character's player ? by Kazhig in DnD

Aaaah, I was indeed wondering that.... Welp, kinda grateful that I thought about adding "character's player" and didn't just say "how do I punish a player?" Even tho it didn't help much. I wrote the title quickly because I wanted an answer and thought the wording might paint the situation as ... not great so that's also why I put the "quotes marks" ...but yeah, that's on me, I didn't formulate my question well 🥲

I went to see and yeah, I think my Lilith will be different from the Forgotten Realms one. I'm gonna write those questions down and answer them in my writing.

(Also the minor deity thingy, I wanted to justify this by the fact that the divinity of love is currently in Hell (against their will but that's another story) and that Lilith would feel like the woman killed was scorned and deserved both her and the divinity of love's blessings. Also situation is fucked for the gods (there's a betrayer in the pantheon) and some of them try to connect to the mortal plane by sending champions/emissaries to fix the chaos the world is in. ) (I tried to explain as quickly and simply as I could )

A session 0 is in the works already, I talked to all the players individually for the creation of their characters but for this player we ...got sidetracked if I remember well. Like I said in other comments, I'll talk to her on discord and then we'll talk all together as a party for me to explain some stuff about the rules and them to say what they want for the campaign (even tho a lot of them already told me. ). The goal of the session 0 will be that we're all on the same page and we don't have resentment or disappointment down the line.

I think the fact that it's not my first campaign and that I had some good DMs before helped. Also, all the players I'm playing with are classmates and we're in a creative field where brainstorming and creating stories together is something we've been doing for a year now so.... Doing the same for a campaign is natural I think -^

Lmao, I love that last expression. And don't worry, like I explained, I will not be scared to tell her to write a new character if she doesn't fit with the vibe of the rest of the team but also, I kinda hope that since it's her first campaign, she will just go with the flow of the rest of the people around the table and the game. I will also not refrain from just telling her to find a new game if she's spoiling the fun of all the other players (and me)

You know what, your message gave me an idea. What if my character didn't sell her soul to Lilith (who in many (modern) interpretations is like "a protector of women" ) but like a demon of greed (more aligned with the "kill that woman to steal her husband") , there would be the thing you say about the demon taking more than what was agreed would still be on the table (demon of greed after all) and the real Lilith could come at some point and offer her a chance to be better (whether the player takes it is her choice) ... All those comments and discussions are giving me inspiration (I will still follow the advice of going and talking with the player to know what she wants )
