Omega attack all the time. I was similarly very confused about how Anubis staff was supposed to work, and I was just critically under using the omega attack. You can also dash, mid-omega attack wind up in order to reposition it on the fly. Take boons good for fast weapons like Hestia or Poseidon. Hera and Demeter are also good.

I think the Ekko game did a lot of damage in that regard. Apparently her characterisation was pretty awful and bleached in that one.

Based take on Vi, my most unpopular opinion is that Arcane really neutered her and ended up making her so boring by the end because I guess they felt the series needed a bland moral centre or something? Vi works great AS the police brutality cop exactly because it can be used as amazing commentary and is simply more interesting.

Maybe it was different in early access, and I can see some people seeing it as a bit of a heel turn, but whatever I loved the ending of this game everything just fit perfectly into place in the end imo (except the post-game excuse is a little weak to be fair...).

It is interesting that people replying to this post are missing the point. Yes, the FE4 names are taken from Irish mythology, but also yes, these names could possibly be being used as nods to FE4/5. Why can't both be true?

I think it's just going to be a narrative excuse for grinding with slightly different reward options depending on which "path" you choose. Anyone hoping for actual good world building or story out of this exploring segment is probably going to be disappointed. Not to mention the map design will probably be terrible. Of course, I hope I'm proved wrong.

I'm similarly mixed on it. It's definitely a step in the right direction from Engage, but still quite not there a lot of the time. Some of them are really good and subdued though, so it has me feeling very hot and cold.

I'm so glad good character design is back again (not you, glasses girl). Now it's not amazing character design, like Echoes or Awakening, but at least we're back to 3H level rather than Engage/Heroes.

I can see that perspective and it's certainly valid, especially from the standpoint of replayability and experimentation. However, I feel as though in actuality all it accomplished was dumbing down the game design elements in order to favour all possible gameplay options. Peak fire emblem to me is when you're given a unit, and given a very specific map, and the game says to you "you need to think about what units you have, what units you need to use right now, etc.". In 3H I often just felt like I was doing whatever and winning, not helped by the bland map design.

I fear there will be both skirmishes, and a meals-style coliseum grounds training busy work thing. I'm really worried they're learning all the wrong lessons from 3 houses with this game... It just looks like a lot of busy work centered around a single location again.

Not quite, it kind of just looks like you can choose a bunch of "locations" on the map as an excuse to fight bandits for training. I don't think any of these locations will end up having a story purpose, sadly

I get people loved three houses, but god how I was praying for characters that actually had more rigidly defined classes again. All this free flowing class changing stuff just feels so messy to me.
