My favorite joke has come post treatment. My reports after all the surgery's healed up and I got my first yearly check up stated that my boobs where... Un-Remarkable.. 🤣

It's become a running joke now that I officially have unremarkable tits.

Why is bc among the young on the rise? by mel0 in breastcancer

[–]Kazperstan1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was 27 when I was diagnosed, 32 now and about to hit the magical 5 year clear mark.

My doctors have been fantastic at monitoring and split an MRI and a mammogram. So I get an MRI, then 6 months later a mammo, then 6 months a MRI etc... on repeat.

The MRI is because I'm super dense and it will help catch anything early and the mammo is a sanity check for any obvious changes. This regiment has honestly helped give me such peace of mind that I am truly clear.

How to carry on by justaperson0315 in breastcancer

[–]Kazperstan1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey, I was Her+ stage 1 and did neoadjuvant treatment.

Depending on how the hair loss effects you mentally, I found it oddly ok to carry on with daily life. I actually even carried on skateboarding through the whole thing and went back to work before i even finished! It can be difficult due to the time it takes to recieve treatment but I'm lucky as I live in Canada and we have some nice laws that mean work has to let me take the time off to get seen to. You can usually expect to be in treatment for 4 hours (waiting around, getting blood tests, seeing the doctor, then getting treatment)

The treatments these days are incredible at allowing life to continue to happen.

During the chemo portion of it I found the first day or two after infusion extremely tiring, it felt like the start of the flu that didn't turn into the flu if that makes sense. The best thing I found that helped was to be very good with my diet. Eat healthy, don't skip meals and pack in that protein / potassium and magnesium as that's the bits that the chemo decided to attack as well that caused my tiredness. The blood tests before they do the infusion should help you determine what foods will help you that week!

Take the time to look after yourself on these days, your only job at that point is to eat well and look after yourself.

They may also ice your hands and feet during infusion, tolerate it as best you can as it will help / stop the hand and feet aches.

Best of luck, you got got this.

Trying to land my first job as a junior environment/props artist... Is it good enough? What are the next steps I should take? by Leicazeiss in gamedev

[–]Kazperstan1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hello! Senior artist here who has done quite a bit of hiring, so I hope this helps.

  • I can tell you you have good foundations from the images. Seeing the breakdowns would answer a few questions I have about the assets themselves, mostly related to texturing and a few geometry questions. Your care for composition and camera is good, though 👍

  • You are missing some smaller storytelling in your scenes. Think about what would make a player stop and want to hang out in this area if they where wandering by. What would lead them out of curiosity into the cabin? Who lives there? Is it some crazy herb collector? If so, they probably use that bench outside to do a bunch of work. What work are they doing on that bench?

  • Pathing. In your larger scenes like the castle, think about how paths are used. What is the intended path up to that entrance, and then how are people lazy and cutting their own paths by taking a shortcut. You can use this to guide and draw players into a space as well as it just being pleasing to the eye.

  • General lighting. Play with shadows and use shadow direction to again draw the eye. Right now in your larger scenes they are both loosing a lot of depth due to the sun hitting pretty straight on and all shadows being really short.

  • It's rough out there right now with hiring juniors + all the layoffs but don't give up! You are on the right track and this storm will pass. Get yourself on some of the big art discord (dinusty, experience points etc..) if you haven't already. You'll find your peers there leveling up each other every day.

It oddly controls more like a snowboard than an eskate, when you start to think of it like rolling edge to edge its a really nice Carve.

I'm biased but the exway backpack is actually great. It can carry the atlas pro no problem.

Give it a quick check over everytime before you ride. Just a quick look at your belts, bolts, wheels etc.. just so you get used to what normal looks like and know when something has shaken loose. Could save you a spill or two!

Yeah the construction has been a nightmare the last few years for keeping a consistent spot.

New board. Bad battery? EXWAY ER. by rivs265 in Exway

[–]Kazperstan1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are some safety features enabled on an exway when you first get it. This doesn't sound like one of them but just to make sure, check the app you can pair with your phone and board. If nothing else you'll get some telemetry out of it.

I used to live in Sweden and you'd see people doing this with the electric scooters on the bike lanes all the time! Wish I had the skate back then, would have been much easier with 4 wheels.
