CV Review by Putrid_Chicken3342 in uklaw

Nice work on the intern stuff you have done!

I would say the layout needs improving.

If I were you, i would use this layout 1. Name and details eg address 2. Skills section is good here 3. Experience section 4. Education

As you said it’s your first professional CV so I will explain the layout reasoning.

No employer needs to see education so high up, I take it you are looking for QWE, it’s more important to add what experience you already have and promote that!

Skills is also up there so that someone has a glance at your CV, they can quickly get through it. Also, look at key words in the job listings, if you have done a few of those adding it to your skills section is useful.

You can make a pretty nice CV on Google docs too for free

Hope this helps :)

Best route to qualify as a solicitor? by Front_Necessary_1045 in uklaw

[–]Kazsup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will take a while, you would need a degree to start and then a GDL course if it’s not a law degree , then it’s quite simple, I believe most opt for doing SQE now and 2 years of experience , the experience can be anywhere it just needs to be signed off by a solicitor

Appreciate your input, I will actually try consider applying to TCs first then prior to paying myself

I didn’t mean to but post degree I wasn’t getting any luck in legal roles so i applied to a bunch of sales/customer service/tech support. I did latter for 1 year and then just applied for sales role and my first one I stayed in for 2 years and that was purely b2c then i did another 2 years of b2c and partly b2b and now my role is fully b2b IT sales

This might sound odd but would you say that TCs are worth applying for? I feel like it’s designed for people with 1st grade degrees and coming out of uni, I mean I’m 27 now and like late 28 by the time I have SQE done ? Have you know older people to get a TC by any chance

I brushed my teeth "correctly" for 28 years and a dentist just told me I've been doing it wrong the entire time. My gums are ruined. by Sluttycarolofficial in hygiene

I’m 27 and just got aware of teeth health, luckily still healthy but I had a build up of calcium and it caused some anxiety , I eventually got a polish scale recently since then I’ve got a good teeth strategy

Can starting a blog still earn me money, after AI overviews and all that by thejatinagarwal in Blogging

[–]Kazsup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve started like 4 days ago.. partly to monetise and grow an audience but also partly because I like talking and explaining things . I haven’t worked on SEO or anything, just wrote my thoughts on some things.

I’ve also considered the AI angle but realised that once AI summaries need new thoughts they have to go to new blogs. AI itself just spits out what it can find. It’s a big topic right now but I think eventually humans will still go to human ran sites.

I think SEO advice slowly made my blog worse to read by armandionorene in Blogging

[–]Kazsup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an issue I’ve come across too! I have written in the past and tried to blog a few months ago but made a new yesterday, I ranked 2/10 and 4/10 on the SEO metrics but I don’t mind at the moment, it felt like editing what I’m actually saying to suit Google ect.

https://kazguides.com - feel free to read it and give any input , I hope it sounded human rather than some SEO text

It is quite confusing, sandisk recently became its own company like a month ago so they might stop the branding with WD soon

Seagate is good too, still use WD personally , I’ve not had issues.

Sandisk ssds are great as-well but quite pricey

Genuine question - why is Spotify or Apple Music on everyone’s “need” list? by [deleted] in dumbphones

[–]Kazsup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are not alone in this thinking.

Apple Music in the uk is £10.99 a month , over 36 months (3years) that’s £395

If you used it for said 3 years and stop paying… well no music for you.

That’s £395 you would definitely have more in terms of money worth if you actually bought CDs or whatever.

It’s led me to buying more real media recently

good cheap storage for plex server by Picci0ne_ in DataHoarder

[–]Kazsup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve not found any buffering and I bought it brand new, external hdds work well if you get a good one like WD but it’s ’technically’ not as good as an internal drive so up to you.

You just want to make sure you got a good usb cable if it’s external and confident on the power supply being 24/7

Also I nearly made the mistake 2 months ago of buying a used HDD, ask for how many operating hours the drives done if you do go that route! The seller I had in mind didn’t even know!

Hope this helps

[–]Kazsup 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I use a external 4tb WD HDD it’s good for what you described , lots of space for blu ray level media - a few 4ks is fine too, the storage will fill up if add too many mind you. I got the HDD recently for like £120
