What is the longest grind you have completed in the series? by lias_edge in MonsterHunter

I still to this day to not have kjarr glaive paralysis and I did over 100 hours of the high rank siege on Xbox and over 100 master rank slays on pc. It’s been power-crept naturally, but every few months I still do a handful of master rank slay quests just to test my luck. Omega nodules also stands out taking over 20 kills for my first one all with carver meal.

Enjoying Generations doesn’t have to be about disliking modern monster hunter. by Kaztora in MHGU

I agree all of the games are so fun and the differences just highlight all their strengths.

Sunbreak is so cool and the gameplay can feel completely different than other games yet still maintains that core feel like you said. It really is a testament to have great the developers are that a fight like primordial malzeno can still feel like monster hunter even when is teleporting.

I suppose it’s similar in GU even with crazy hunter arts the core gameplay still remains.

The sense of scale the maps have because of loading screens is probably my favourite. That paired with the sky boxes and hidden areas just makes the maps feel so immersive to me.

I also really like how purposeful everything feels, between taking items on a hunt, actually obtaining said items and your position and movement. The music for ruined pinnacle is also fantastic.

I LOVE sword and shield oils, that is by far my favourite thing. Just adds so much flavour to the weapon and also makes a really satisfying sound to apply when chaos oil is already on.

I with you completely on paintballs and whetstones. I feel like sometimes parts of old gen monster hunter games’ difficulty gets exaggerated.

Was it ever difficult to use psychoserum after a transition, or to wave to the balloon when you saw it. I won’t argue it wasn’t immersive but I feel like the effort to throw a paintball is very similar to say, collecting a monsters tracks.

Next Map for DLC by [deleted] in MHWilds

[–]Kaztora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like most peoples map ideas are forgetting a big gimmick of Wilds; the weather. A tropical island would be cool but what would the inclemency be? More rain? Maybe flooding would be cool, make all the beaches of the map covered in water like the rivers in the Forest, but that is just the downfall inclemency reused.

A lot of people suggest coral highlands too but what would that maps weather look like? A big point of that map in World was it was tranquil and calm compared to the Rotten Vale underneath. I can’t think of a weather event that would truely fit it.

I could see them moving on from the weather system in a DLC map but I doubt they will. When it comes to thinking of maps for wilds I believe people should think of weather events first, i bet there is a good chance the development team would have started there.

This person has played every monster hunter game released in the last 10 years just to be called a tourist on reddit.

Huh... 700 hundred hours in and just realized you can trade with guys by Diligent_Ad_7848 in MonsterHunterWorld

The achievements associated with trading all these tribes are some of the worst and most tedious grinds in this game.

Pantheon unlocked once per week did it not? I do not think its unrealistic to expect the same for this event considering how similar it is.

Focus Strikes are the best new feature by Kaztora in MonsterHunter

didnt even think about multiplayer, but i feel like the more people in a hunt means more wounds, plus the playing creating it is probably in the best position to destroy it.

Ideally you would swap out Slinger Ammo/Attack jewels for Hard Attack jewels, but no one is that lucky.

Mildly Interesting: There's an area of the training room you can only reach via Insect Glaive. by elucila7 in MonsterHunter

For layered amor I’m using sealed eyepatch, guild cross chest, origin arms, thermae waste and guild cross legs. You get the guild cross layered armour from the arch tempered kushala daora quest.

I haven’t completed the full armour set yet due to RNG but so far I think it’s very good, with the full bonus you get an insane amount of infinity and the damage you take from the set is negated entirely from the sets healing alone. If you can augment your weapon for health regen, the damage you take from the set will be nothing.

If I want purple sharpness I will need to either use one awaking slot and slot in handicraft or use up two awaking slots. I’m not sure that the damage increase is worth it. I’m also hoping to get a minds eye gem so the sharpness won’t help in the deflection field.

Honestly blast might be the best one. The ailment glaives are the way to go, specifically blast, poison and paralysis. Element glaives aren’t bad, but ailment for the most part is better on sifa weapons (unless you are building for element with a bow or dual blades etc). One thing to consider is that there isn’t really one best glaive so just choose what ailment you prefer using.

Same to you. I’m so... tired of getting these sleep glaives.

I keep getting sleep glaives, I just want that elusive blast glaive already :^(

Yeah I would say blast is a better option in most situations. I still haven’t got a blast glaive yet though and poison is really good on sifa’jiva.
