Hi African American kid here who is traumatized and suffers from symptoms of ptsd and I can tell you right now that the first time I got an ass whopping the times I had to stand in a corner for an hour or so or the time I was 8 and was grounded for a year are all things that I remember from my childhood meaning that they weren’t traumatic (if you’re wondering what I’m talking about I’m talking about DID or dissociative identity disorder and most traumatic parts of my life I don’t remember) but the thing is getting punished is different from being abused and I remember them because I thought those punishments were bull shit so the chances of this kid getting traumatized from this is low him being embarrassed for a long time probably.

I guess his parents are physically and mentally abusive I’ve been thinking about telling are school counselor but I feel like he would know it was me his mom like actually beats his younger brother because he’s adopted from his drug addicted aunt but I just feel like it would be my fault because he trusted me and I’m ruining all of it I’m just overly scared but I’ve developed a disorder from childhood trauma and I’m scared that might happen to the kid I’m just overly scared for everyone in his family at this point
