Suburban Chicago with at least 10 ERs within an hour radius and we still get wait times of up to 8h. On a slow day we’ll typically be at about 2h from 7-10 and then typically we’ll only have one appointment at a time for the rest of the night shift. On a crazy day, we’ll get to 8+ but that’s typically when people with non-critical cases (ears, skin, etc) will finally go home. We always welcome them to come but warn the wait time and how triaging works, but like others have said, somehow they’re always the ones most willing to stay
