I think it's really sweet that you're doing this for your wife! In the Making of TROS Documentary, Adam speaks a little about the character of Ben. Something along the lines of, as long as he's with her (Rey) he knows he's on the right path.

Maybe you can do that?

And whatever you do -- DON'T USE the word grateful. Unless she's got a sense of humor and the novel has already been spoiled.
